Well I've been playing with the 1/8th Proboat Miss Bud & I have to say I'm pretty impressed. I've managed to blow it over 5 times now (in chop) and managed to pull off one complete barrel roll, land on it's sponsons & keep going! As with any new product I had a spat of screws loosening & simple break/fix issues. I've also had an issue with it tending to die while away from shore but I solved that by buying a Zig Zag as a rescue boat.
Out of the box the changes I'd recommend is putting a barbed fitting & short hose on the vent hole for the gas cap (otherwise it has a tendency to spurt over the inside of the hull). I also put a deans antenna on it as the stock holder is a little hokey. Just recently I added a marine specialities clutch, water pump & high compression (Stage 1) head to allow the boat to stop in the water with the engine running.
This thing's definately a crowd pleaser & out of the box goes a lot faster than you might expect.

does it have an adjustable strut? looks real loose, may need to take some of the positive out of her. They are a blast to watch.

Boat Modeler's article was actually on the 1/12th scale (the nitro version) this one's running a two stroke gas 23cc Zenoah engine. It is a little loose but it tends to make it look more realistic.

The owners of one of the LHS's invited me over to their Lakeside house to run my boats. They just got 2 of them in and kept one for themselves. I have to get over to their house to see it run and maybe get the radio in my hands to try it myself. The cost seems a little high for a boat that only looks good and goes "Up to" 35 MPH. I'll be waiting to see someone show up at a race with one and be majorly disappointed. Let us know if your boat develops problems that the other Pro boats have had.

For what it brings me,
And I love video more!:D
great video!
MORE, MORE!!
LOL
By the sound of that boat i would have never guessed it was gas. Thought it was a huge nitro!
So thats what a zenoah sounds like.
When i get my boat my 8mm will get lots of use.

It's a thing of beauty....... it definately likes to skip the water.

Sorry, I'm not trying to rain on his parade. Pro Boat boats don't have the best reputations. I keep hoping that their newest boats are an improvement over their previous ones.
I watched the videos and the one thing that I did notice is how tail heavy they run. It might need a lifting prop on it. Seeing how Prather, the maker of their props, doesn't make one, you might want to look at an Octura 1400 series for it. I would guess in the area of a 1470.
