Scorpien you said there wasn't much happening lately. Well yes and no.
Things kinda move slow when you're dealing with a metal that doesn't want to have anything done to it but roughed up with a file for balance.
Good thing about SS is that it maintains it shine unlike the BC props. If you want a nice mirror finish SS prop, then you've got to work it. Put it down and after a few hours, days, maybe a week or so, pick it up and do a bit more.
Here's the prop I offered to trade out with Lovinnitro. (Offer still stands;) ). Its not perfect, but its balanced and has a good shine. When I say not perfect, lets say that I gave up on wetsanding the tiny pits out. Most are gone, but there are a few. Maybe after an hour or so of sanding it would be 'almost' there. It still stock as the day is long and will at least look better on my rig than the BC props with the polished alum gear.
Maybe I'll wait on the next one for a while. My fingers are sliced and tired.
About the only thing I can do fairly well is polish little peices of metal:p

Looks good - I need to get me a prop balencer and start learning.
I wish I would have known about the 275SS before I ordered my P275

Not only is it shiny:cool:
But I didn't realize they were so huge!
And was wondering if that was used as a boat prop balancer too. Saw it at the hobby shop and thought it was only for the plane props.
Now I know!;)

yea,
gasser props are pretty dang big......you should see a .12 prop- WOW! i didnt realize they were so tiny! ;)
DD- i just worked my first SS prop recently too [p220ss], if you think about it they actually are almost as easy as most BeCu, because prather props tend to come in better condition then octura props [no big bumps and dents]. the other good thing is that u can work then whenever and wherever, unlike the BeCu props because of their toxic dust. plus of course they dont get bent and dinged as much................i want ALL SS from now on!! :)

BTW Bro your polishing technichs are unmatched as far as I'm concerned.

Ran it today for my best speed yet 38.8. The carb still hasn't been leaned in yet either.
Hey Joe <lol>, I know about the Octura's also. As far as I'm conserned, they all are a pain.
I'm done for a while.
Had a fun today yet my boat took a beating. Check out the photos.
Dieter and his new boat. Kinda looks like Fritz's... well these two old pharts are in competition with each other it seems. The buy the same stuff.

This is what happens when you have raced in the past and know how to set up an imaginary course.
My buddy wanted to run the little red machine and we agreed, run a course. About 75 yds straight away and maybe 10yds in the turn and run right to left.
Didn't happen, he turned too sharp and never got back on line and and and and and and and ...... He's fixing my rig though. & I'm not really complaining. It was fun, it was above the waterline so I could run a bit more, and if I had my choice on placement of a wreck, that would be the spot.

That hadta hurt:(
after all the things i see on here, i wont be going out without my video:D
maybe get one for AFV tv show or most dangerous driving tv show:D
but all jokes aside, thats gotta hurt, like someone smacking your baby.
well not that bad, but....
must have been a close race to end up in the side of your boat?

You know, it really didn't bother me as bad as it would had someone else turned on a radio with my freq before asking around (informal gathering).
Its a relatively easy fix, heck i'd put duck tape and not worry but it needs to be repaired.
VIDEO........ I've got some coming. Should pick it up this next weekend too. MAN! Never thought I'd say my boat looks good hauling butt but it does. The guy was out in thigh deep water with me and we brought it in close (10ft & not the safest) & WFO. He held the camera down to almost water level and got some of the best footage I've seen. Looks up close and in your face! After the pass you could hear us laughing !
Btw, Might need you to help with it when it arrives.

Little one only put a dent in the big one;)

<~~~~~~~~~ Crying.......... O Double. I shall pray for a speedy recovery:D :D You obviously know I'm saddend:( But hey gotta take some bumps and bruises here and there. It's inevitable. Glad to see the damage was minimal and above the water line should be an easy fix.

I'm a strong believer in inertia:
Inertia: An object in motion tends to stay in motion (rough translation).
When he broadsided me, he was running 3/4 ta' almost full throttle. I didn't slow down and brought it on in. His boat was cutting doughnuts from his rudder gettting whipped out of place... almost looked like a toddler pitching a fit. lol.
I'd checked the weight of his before we ran-- maybe 3-4lbs. Feather weight! Oh, K&B 3.5 for pwr and 15% sport fuel, but theres no doubt, when set up, that booger will be quick.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
One more note:
THE GPS WILL EITHER MAKE YOU HAPPY OR IT WILL HURT YOUR FEELINGS.
Folks come up saying they have a high 40's rig. Okay, run it. I know what 40mph looks like from the small 3.5's to the 6ft twin engine gas boats.
My bud had been talking so much smack till the GPS came out. First run was 24mph. He said it was lying. I told him to take it out and heat the water up for at least 100yds. Brought it back in, 24. something. Then came the conditions excuse.... water was glass as you can see from the photo up top. LMAO.
Then the guys on the beach said for me to rough it up a little. So after a few bogging doughnuts and playing with the gas, he got some WAKEBALLS! Then here he comes in for a close pass and that little joker almost bit it just a few feet in front of us!
Have I told you guys that I love boating?

Sucks to see your damage but I agree it could have been way worse. Glad to see it's going to be an easy repair.
With that aside - you guys must have a blast out there. I can't wait for the video.
and you gave em Wakeballs. Ahahahaha :D

Yea,
I was to believe my small nitro was doing 30 till I saw what a true 25 looked like.
The water wasn't that deep where you were at (running anyway) was it? I noticed that in about 2 ft of water you can get a mighty wakeball going! enough to fip a smaller nitro a full speed. experienced that:rolleyes:
Alright off to my post to fill you all in on progress and upcomings.
