Hey everybody..
Just thought I would give an update on the conversion. I have the os .21 engine running through a fullers fast electric 3/16" flex shaft topped off with a prather b225 prop. I didn't have enough room to wrap the pipe over the engine so on the port side of the cowling I had to make a mod to the fiberglass and put a hump into it to clear the pipe. The only way I can really gauge the speed is by the other boats running on the pond when I started breaking in the engine. There was a nitro hammer, and a 1/8 miss bud. Even running rich for break in the 1/12 was just walking away from the 1/8 scale. I was putting laps on the nitro hammer put have no idea how fast is was running. If I had to guess I would say btwn. 55-65 mph. Just an estimate.
My question is this... a club in my area is having an IMPBA sanctioned race in September. A guy that I know in the club wants me to pull the .21 and run a stock .15 because they are running a stock class for the miss bud 1/12 and the nitro hammer. I can keep the drive hardware just have to switch the engine.

1) Does anybody know who makes a coupler for a .15 to a 3/16" shaft.

2) If I were to just leave the .21 in and run in the b-class hydro what kind of speeds are we looking at. Do you think the speed that I am running would be competitive in this class.

3) I have a 160 cc (5.5 oz.) tank in the boat. Would this be enough to runn a race and also mill or should I go to a bigger tank. like 8 oz. Thanks guys
:D

sounds like you are flying!! If you are running between 55 & 65 you have a good chance in the B hydro. If you are running in apond that is set up for races, the 1/4 mile oval, you can time your boat to to get a close estimate of yor speed. The streight a way should be 330 feet. Your MPH = 225/the amount of seconds. Or for the 1/4 mile oval MPH = 900/the amount of seconds.
The record for the B hydro is 96mph last time I checked. The best way to find out if you have enough fuel is to Time yourself. Set up a watch/clock give yourself 2 1/2 minutes for starting and milling, after the 2 1/2 minutes has past see if you can run 6 more lapes, but run it as if you were going around dead boats. Some races that start off with 8 boats, more than once only 1 or 2 of the boats finish. If you can finish the race you have a good chance at taking a first,(to win you must first finish, to finish first).
