I have a used 4-tec, with the traxxas radio system and esc, and a brand new Orion core stock motor. the radio and esc are about 5 years old, lifted from my old rustler, so they're used to bumps, and slams. I got a bout 2.5 1500nicad 6 cell packs through it before my car totally stopped working. At first when I turned it off and on , the motor would spin, like it normally does, but now, nothing. I tried a freshly charged pack, nothing. I also called traxxas, and they said send it the esc and reciever in for $20, and they'd take care of it. Should I do that, or is there something I can do? Help!

Escs and receivers really dont get used to bumps and slams, but try to fully charge the pack, check the connectors, check the batterys in the transmitter and get back to us.

If none of the above works, see if you can find someone with the same radio and try swapping it and see if that helps. I have seen quite a few traxxas transmitters go bad.

I also have a t-maxx with stock radio equipment (TQ3) would that transmitter work with the 2 channel reciever? I know I sould try hooking up the esc to the 3 channel system which works great, to see if it's the esc, like the traxxas guy said it probably is. thanks

Don't dismiss your motor either, it may have a hung brush.

^^^What he said^^^
I had same problem. I thought it was my ESC. I just needed to fix my brushes and it worked.

Amen to that!:D
I also had a 4-tec ,and the transmitter craped out on me to. It took me over a year to realize that it was the transmitter cause I never would have guessed it.

I know for sure it is not the brand new orion core stock motor, because at first after it stopped working right (the car), I turned the power off and on, and the motor spun like it normally does, but then after awhile that stopped working too, so i think it's the esc or reciever. thanks
