I have now gone through 3 tanks of fuel in my new Traxxas Nitro Vee. The boat runs great but I am experiencing that the engine stops after running the boat around for about 2-3 minutes. I use the RTS to get it back in and start it up again without problems. the same thing seems to happen again after about the same amount of time.
What can some of the causes for something like this be?

It might be that the carb is set too lean. Richen it up about a half turn and see if that helps. You can go further out if needed. The needles on all ARTR or RTR boat kits are preset to get them fired up initially, you have to dial it in from there. Weather conditions, altitude and other factors will dictate how it has to be set.

fuel tank...is it stalling when the fuel gets to a certain level?
too big of a prop......are you running the correct size?
too lean.....riching up a little, you should be able to see the unburnt oil coming out of the exhaust.
water flow......are you getting a good water flow through your cooling system?
pipe lenght could be too short.

everything is factory setting and parts. It doesn't happen at a certain fuel level. I can run it around for 3-5 minutes before it simply stalls.
I take it back in, fire it up again and the same thing happens.

Do you think that it is overheating? Is the engine still boiling hot by the time you get it back to shore? Keep us posted!

Are you useing a fuel fiter? If so is it clean? I have had this happen to me before, it was the engine running too lean. Try riching it about 1/16th of a turn. Different weather conditions and different cimates, changes what the settings need to be. Also if you were running too rich the engine would stall, but normally sooner. Can you see unburnt oil coming out of the exhaust, how much?
