I've gotten to see one run but didn't get a close-up look at it nor did I get my hands on the TX. There is not a whole lot that you can do with it. Try different props is a good place to start. Boost the nitro percentage to around 40% with boat fuel. The tuned pipelooked too long to me. If you want, check the length, I run my .12-sized 'rigger at 8-3/4" measuring straight back and across from the glow plug. Shorten the rudder. It appears to have a lot more than what is needed. It only has to be about 1/2" lower than the prop. If you want to get serious with mods later on, switch it over to a surface drive.

Boats are give and take.......to gain on one thing you will lose on one.
higher nitro 40% or 50%, just make sure it has enough castor in it.
shorter pipe lenght, short pipe = more RPM's less horse power, move it back and forth until you find the sweet spot your engine wants.
bigger engine, but your boat is made for what is in it.
Remove any dips in the bottom of the hull.
Make sure that all of the hardware is aligned and square.
