What problems have people been having with the novak brushless system and would you still recommend it.

Apart from damages due to overheat ( 2 sets for me already ), it is a really nice motor and ESC system especially for lazy guy like me.

ive been runnig it for a few months now. after you change out the tamiya connector and beef up the rest of the car (metal trany gears, good shocks, bumper/skid plates...) this system is amazing. great power and no upkeep! i have heard of poeple having problems with over heating, but they were totally off on gearing and beat the snot out of it. i run every day at least 2 packs, and my biggest problem has been the cheap plastic castors in my pede or off a large jump the motor will shift away from the spur and shred it. as for the controller and motor i have no complaints!

I had mine for about 3 weeks and the pinion shaft locked up. I sent it in and novak sent me a new one. I was running it at the track a few days ago and the speed control started smoking after about one minute of running. I when i got to the car 4 of the 5 power wires had melted off. im sending it in tommorrow.

I have run mine for a few months now and have had no problems. Overall this is a nice setup. Different people will have different problems. It is supposed to shut its self down if it detects a problem. Overheating is usually overgearing or binding in the drive train or wires have been shorted out. But then again crap happens. I have run the Novak BL in my X-RAY and HPI MT. No problems.
