Has anybody ever used a flex shaft on a nitro boat. I've always seen them on electric boats. I want to get rid of the steerable outdrive on my boat (A cen grey thunder) But It seems I'll need a flex shaft to connect the motor to the shaft because the shaft needs to run parallel to the bottom of the boat. I don't know of any other options besides a flex shaft.

Flex shafts is all that I use on my boats, I am running a .21 and .45. If you need I can help you on the setup.

That's all I use except for my Grey Thunder. I think that www.fastelectrics.com has a conversion kit fir the Grey Thunder to change it to the way that you want.

Just make sure you use a large enough diameter like .150 or .187 .
I have a gasoline boat that uses .250 (1/4 inch ) flex . Same as a string trimmer .

Will give you an idea of what I want but I want the rudder behind the prop not offset.

Would it be easier to use a complete flex shaft instead of just a connector?

How about this for an idea? Lock the present steerable outdrive into place so that it can't turn then use a rudder off say, an Aqua Jet off onto the right side. Afterwards you could remove the skeg from the outdrive for less drag. I was told that the outdrive changes angles when it is turned, making the poor corner handling problem.
