Here is a photo of a 260 (can't tell the difference hardly from looking)

The red arrow is where I'd put it. All you have to do is drill a hole there. It should have threads in the hole, but it would need to be pushed further into the port area.

The blue marks are for mounting a clutch.

My suggestion before doing anything.... take the cylinder off the piston and look in there just to make sure. We did this on mine and you could see where it wouldn't hurt anything. So far so good. It's just enough pressure on there to pass it to the pump and allow it to operate.

Where mine is installed there was a screw that held my throttle cable in place.

After taking the cylinder off and looking inside we saw where it would be fine to drill through.

Then of course we had to relocate the throttle cable, but is been no problems.

You'll notice the differences in the engines in the photos.

Hope they help and hopefully some others will assist.

If it were me, I'd trust my judgement to take the cylinder off and look in there to make sure you don't drill into the actual cylinder itself. You'll be drilling into what looks like a port, not the combustion area.

Hey Double,
Just from curiosity, why add a water pump if your aircooled?

Hey Thanks for the pics! I ended up drilling and tapping a whole in the crank case just left of the center seam, where the 2 halves come together. I had to file one thread off of the fitting to keep it from hitting the crank. It works fine! My engine didn't have any places to put it like yours did.
Thanks again!

lovinnitro-his exhaust is water cooled!

but wouldn't the standard water pickup off the rudder or transom cool it ??????

The exhaust is not water cooled like on the WHH pipe, on the Cooper pipe, its merely the mainifold and the connection ring from the pipe to the muffler. (they have rubber seals in there)

Yep, the rudder pickup will keep it cool while at speed. One thing I had to consider was the my engine failing to shut completly off in case of a radio glitch and it sitting there idling forever before anyone could shut it down.

And as hard as it is to believe, I do actually idle around a little bit and of course no fwd motion = no water flow & burned up rubber seals. Speaking of which, I need to pick up a few extras. The pump with a feeder line off the crankcase allows just that. Pretty cool to watch it sitting there and water passing through the tubes.

btw, I'm not even using my rudder pickup. It got blocked off with a little glass resin. We installed a small pick up tube coming out the bottom of boat. Pretty cool.

Hey JJAC, sorry about the late response, but I'm 7 hours ahead of CST. Glad you got it figured out though.
