Best Street/Race Competition #7 (no restrictions)

Welcome everyone to the Seventh Street/Race Competition!!

The Street/Race paint competition will be open for entrees for two weeks and will close at Midnight August 31th.

Each month we will hold a Best Paint and Street/Race competition. If you can’t get your bodies done this month, don’t worry there will be plenty more to come!!

The winning bodies may appear in Radio Control Car Action or R/C Nitro!!

Restrictions: None


RULES for Street/Race competition:

1) Any body may be submitted to the competition (Truck, buggy, touring car, etc).
2) Any body submitted may NOT appear in another competition.
3) Photo editing the pictures (other than cropping and adjusting brightness/contrast) is highly looked down upon and may result in disqualification.
4) Anyone may enter a body (professional painters are welcome!)
5) Please refrain from insulting bodies in anyway.
6) Must fall within this month's restrictions (August restrictions: None)
7) Only 2 entrees per person.
8) Bodies should be painted within the last 4 months.
9) Bodies must be of a "street" look or be painted in a race car style.

Each submission must include the following:
Body manufacturer and size.
Paint used.
Masks used (hand or precut)
And of course, a body.

This month the great acidburn will be judging the Street/Race paint competition.

Each body will be judged by the following criteria (1-bad, 10-excellent):

Detail (score 1-10) (decals, grills, mirrors, roll cages, if its on a real car you score points here)
Design (score 1-10)
Execution (score 1-10)


The photo and background will not be judged. All that is needed is a clean photo that clearly shows the body.

Each month we will place some restriction on all entrees.

September restrictions:
Best Paint- Tribal theme (flames, shapes, trees, tiki gods, whatever tribal is to you.)
Street/Race- Street dreams (your dream street racer/cruiser).

As I promised, here are my nominees...

Bodies: FG 1:5
Paint: Pactra and Tamiya window tint
vinyl cut Decals and flames.

Audi A4 raced 1997 in Australia
Mercedes ITC in Streetlook :-)

Unfortunately the Mercedes last only 20 minutes. Then it fell apart. Lexan cracked from the vibrations.

This month there are no restrictions on the style of body, but the best street race is geared for the guys who dont go absolutely crazy on a body, but go for the scale detail look (hense the bemmer is a great entry)

2. Paint used for MB and Audi.

For both entry: Porche and Diablo
1. Please post the body manufacturer and size.
2. Paint used.
3. Masks used if any.

Paint used for both cars is Pactra. But don't ask for the colorcode :D

Of course the decals are all! handmade. Buying decals is far too easy for good detailing. Instead I like searching, scanning, staring onto this small screen for hours, just to get a unique design nobody has except me.(I hope):cool:

Porsche is Tamiya 1/10 scale, Pactra Outlaw Black with red stripe areas masked and painted with Pactra Racing Red, backed with Pactra Backing White.

The Diablo is HPI in 1/10 scale, decals from bag and from Tamiya Nissan r390. Paint was blend of mostly Pactra Purple, Red and Yellow, backed in Pactra Outlaw Black, window tint is Tamiya Smoke...

None of the entries had much details except for side mirrors and home-made decals/mask... it all came down to design and execution.

wimmerma's Audi and Aquaman's Diablo produced a "fresh" look I haven't seen done before.

But I think the FG large scale bodies always tower the smaller scale entries.
So it''s "relatively" easy to get an great looking body. Not an unfair advantage but...
