Way 2 go CEN yall have totally changed my look on yall, this thing is AWSOME,yall need keep up the good work, this truck blew my mind when I saw it, am not 2 much into the drive shafts, hopefully yall wont include that 2 speed tranny with the green and yellow grears, come on man, need metal, yalls MT2 is pretty good, besides the red gears, come on put metal gears in that truck, no one cares if its lightweight, it wont effect the truck that much, just something 2 miss up and have 2 buy another part, but keep up the good work, I love GENISIS

HOLY CRAP!!!

ill put in my application at kroger tomorrow! i MUST hvae one of these!!

so cen, you actually expect us to PULL start this??

http://www.cenracing.com/cars/genesis/pic/engine.jpg

.46ci PULLSTART?? will it come with its own jackhammer mount so we can actually get the engine to turn over, or are we just going to have to start it with the gloplug REALLY loose? or will it fit on a starter box (or can it be bump-started)

i hope that drill accessory will be released at the same time as the truck... lol...

oh, and as soon as youve got a video, chock up one more definite buyer!

11-15-2003, 07:00 AM
if its ringed it might be easy to pull start

muswagon
11-15-2003, 08:41 AM
Even if it's not ringed just make the diameter of the recoil bigger and it will be easy to pull.

379
11-15-2003, 10:09 AM
yup thats how long stroke engines deliver mpore torque than short strokers the crankpin moves in a bigger circle than the shortstroke crankpin also it would reqire a bigger rope than normal

rampbrian
11-15-2003, 11:28 AM
im sure the pull start will work, thats not even a worry for me,
what I want to know is if the tires made by hot bodies will fit the genisis rims. ?

and im shure that there will be a 3 speed on the genisis. I hope its ajustable tho, so we can fine tune our shift points,

mr cen racing,
thank you for answering most of our questions, you are the man. can you tell us what we can expect to se for a boddy?
or maby you could get a 1/8 scale parma grave digger boddy and put it on there, thats what I plan on getting for it.

any word on the diff locking tool?
or vented clutch bell or fly wheel?

last question, have you tested the genisis with the IMEX jumbo kong tires on?
the genisis looks to be the ony truck big enough to accept those tires and not look silly, I like big tires on a monster truck,
thanks
ramp man cant wait.
with .46 engine this truck should be selling like crazy, do you think you will be able to fill the orders for it?

mariog
11-15-2003, 10:40 PM
So what do you think the top speed will be that the 3-speed will pump out?

Maxx_A_Million
11-15-2003, 11:19 PM
. . . yeah. . . supply and demand. . . itd be nice if we didnt see a maxx-like shortage of trucks. . .

also, when can we get a ballpark price and/or release date?

monstertrucker
11-16-2003, 03:51 AM
With such a powerful motor will this truck have a slipper clutch to protect the drivetrain, or is that the function of the center diff.

So whats the good word CEN? Anything else have final decisions made? Have you started mass producing anything yet? Have you tested a rear exhaust version of the engine? How's the 3 speed working? Is the electronics gear finalized? What will be standard, and what will be optional?

Hi Guys,

This monster truck looks great but it as so much gadgets that I wonder if it will be durable... they're is so much feature that we maybe spending more time fixing it then running it... this is my concerns...

If I would be CEN, I would clean up the truck and keep the essential... too much is like not enough!

Weak point that I see:
-Suspension arms looks small compared to Savage.
-Front skid plate angle. should be more like T-MAXX or Savage to act like a ramp.
-Drive shaft, I would prefer metal CVD like MGT.
-3 speed tranny, the yellow and green thin plastic spur gear looks really weak (1/10 scale) for the torquey .46
-2 top shocks will break easy.
-Body post really look cheesy.
-No roll bar... hopefully a roll bar like Savage would be nice.
-Chassis looks like painted metal not aluminium.

Keep in mind this is a prototype... so hopefully they will do some quality assurance on the truck... not as long as MGT, but at least a few months to fix all issues... so don't expect this truck to be out for xmas... if it does you will be doing the quality assurance for them... just like Bill Gates does with Windows...

This truck looks great and if final product looks clean and really heavy duty... this will be my next one!

I just got back from the hobby shop, local hobby guy said that he is doubtful that the cen genisis will come with a .46 cause it will raise the cost of the kit so much.

he thinks its gona come with a .21

I hope and pray he is wrong, .46 will be the 2nd biggest selling point of this truck, first being its pure size.
cen, im worried, please re assure us.
thanks.

After all this hype, there's no way that it will come with a .21... Why would your local store make that comment? Sounds like they don't don't have a clue, and probably haven't looked at the CEN website.

.46 Engine is a done deal. ITs all over the net and all over our website. It runs great and reliable. It have so much torque and power that it outrun our MT2 which does 45mph. This engine does raise cost a bit but it will still be competitive with trucks in the same class.

As for several weak points some member worried about. All i can say is dont worry about it. I mean, Quality of the material is a lot more important than size. If its made right with right material, it wont break.

CEN is saying "Massive wheelie pulling bottom end Torque combine with massive top end power "...

How can you pull massive wheelie when you got a center DIFF!!!

You cannot do wheelie with a center diff...

anyhow I prefer no wheelie and good acceleration and better control...

What I mean is that you wont be able to do wheelies out off the box... you need to lock the center diff to do wheelies...

Then if you lock the center diff, you wont get any slipper protection for the drivetrain like a slipper clutch or center diff provides....

If I would be CEN and wheelie would be an important factor, I would replace the center diff with slipper clutch just like T-MAXX, Savage, MGT and all the others...

just my 2 cents...

good about how long does it take to start in seconds 1 or 2 maybe 3
i myself dont like center diffs too much as they remove some slight offroad capability if they unload but the .46 engine and outrunning the mt2 makes up for it overall i like the genisis and will get one as soon as i can save up for it

I'm with you CJ. I want to get one ASAP, and there will probably be lots of snow around. Man is that going to be torture standing in the garage breaking in the motor. But oh so satisfying at the same time. At least I enjoy the smell of nitro fumes.

So CEN. Any updates today. I know I'm a huge pain in the arse, but we just REALLY want to know all about his truck. Any chance that audio of the engine running will get put on the website soon?

Has manufacturing started yet? Have you made any changes recently (as in a roll bar, like some people were asking)? Is there going to be a red coloured cooling head on the engine. Someone said that didn't like the red, but I think its a great colour. Really looking forward to it CEN. I already have been chatting to a shop that I am going to be buying it from. As soon as they let me, I am going to put a down payment in on one.

Im starting to wonder about the suspension. More info on this area would help? The pictures show the trucks' suspension like flat straight acroos from one tire to the other. Now in the pics is the suspension fully extended or compressed? If compressed like how much 1/2" 1"?
Now if the susp. is fully extended in the pics and thats all there is thats not good cause there will be no downward travel and limited travel altogether.

So basically can we get a picture of the truck )front view) with full suspension extension?

Will Fix the link.

About the center diff. EK4 have center diff and pulls wheelie. So it can be done. PLus JT Racing is ready for aftermarket support

Picture of front view can be found on the website.
Note: Picture were taken before we put oil in and do all the adjustment in order to run the truck.

I can assure you these center shocks wont break, though they do look tiny but very durable.

Mr Cen,

The EK4 does NOT have a center diff. It is a solid shaft that the spur rides on. It is physically impossible to pull a wheelie with a center diff. Now, you mentioned that your english is not the best, are you sure we are talking about a center differential, or center spur, or what?

I Agree, unless you lock the center diff (meaning it becomes solid shaft) you wont be able to pull wheelies...

Has there been a decision on the body? Have you decided if you will ever make a "kit" version? How about a final mounting position of the fuel tank, etc? And are there pics coming with the final layout?

How about a video? Is there one in the works? I want to see this thing in the air!!!

Kit is in consideration but not anytime soon. We might make a MT2 kit version because we just won the NORRCA Offroad National MT class.

i have been silently following this thread, kinda seeing what people thought and what was going on. i must admit, when i first heard about CEN and thier cars i was not impressed. i figured it would be another company that would make cheap products and sell them for low prices to attract new people, but that experienced R/C drivers would never really find anything from CEN that they wanted or needed. I never thought CEN would be "groundbreaking" or come out with any thing that had so many new ideas and parts. i had the chance to pick up a used CEN rally car for about 120 RTR. it was something i could tear up on the weekdays and not feel too badly if i destroyed it because i didnt have mich invested. imagine my suprise when i beat the living he11 out of that thing for months and didnt break a part. the engine had great power and ran great, plus CEN had good cusomer support when i finally did burn the engine up. that car changed my view on CEN, i now knew they made quality products and had great customer support, but they still really didnt have a car that i drooled over.... all that has changed now. i have been looking heavily into the savage for a new year play toy, but i am just going to have to be patient and wait for this truck. it looks like an incredible vehicle with not only many new designs incoperated, but the H.P. to back up its aggressive looks.

thanks for fixing the link CEN racing, i listened to the engine and i must say, it sounds tame, good job on keeping the exhaust level down so all the niebhors wont whine and bitch when we are playing with our trucks in the street. also with a exhaust note that soft this thing will be the ultimate sleeper for those who havent heard about this truck and the engine.

Yeah, I was wondering about the sound of the engine. It sounds to me like they barely opened the throttle. Like they are still breaking it in. Nice smooth sounding idle. I can't wait to hear it wind right out.

this has been brought up already, CEN mentioned that the .70 is derrived from a helicopter platform (or plane i forget), so therefore CEN doesnt consider that a valid comparison. he mentioned that he is only comparing this engine to the car based engines in todays RTR cars that were designed for car use and not airplane or helicopter use.

if i was to estimate the price, based on what CEN has said i think mid 400's is a reasonable assumption. all things considered this is a very reasonable price. it seems to come with decent radio gear and servos that should be strong enough to manuver this truck without having to upgrade. infact they say hi torque metal gear "servos". so it seems like not only will the steering be a nice servo but the servo for throttle and braking will be also of equal quality and ability.

CEN can we have any photos of the radio? what features are ya'll planning on incoperating into it? AM/ FM? end points?

also with the big engine, and 3 speed i dont see any of us having to go out and pay for a Hyper 8 port or a .25 to make this thing go fast. the main parts of this truck are about as good and strong as it gets so they wont need upgrading and that will save hundreds down the line. i think my only complaint will be how fast this thing sucks gas, i bet it can down that tank in 5 minutes of hard running. ahhh well gas is cheap and its worth it for all that HP.

i hope this truck makes it to the shelves by mid feb. i will probably wait 1 month incase thier are any mold problems or issues that show themselves right away in production and give CEn time to address those minor bugs then go out and get mine.

We just went over this a page or so back.
You can do a wheelie with a center diff and with NOT locking it completely. You just use thick oil in the diff. Or by use of a special diff called a TORSEN DIFF. In a torsen diff gears are arranged in such a way that when power is applied the tires with the most grip get the power sent to them. But you still get regular diff action off power.

So YES it is possible to wheelie with an UNlocked center diff.

i just thought of somehting that was a big problem on the bigger fuel tank of the terra crusher... the o-ring and proper closure of the tank... CEN, when you get a chance, please make sure that the o-ring WILL last unchanged for 2 days soaked in nitro... if ti gets bigger, youll ahev the or-ing getting stuck around the top of the fuel tanka nd not closing... btter yet, make it liek the 1/8 buggies. . . i always ahve to force my lid shut on my fuel tank, even though i upgraded orings. . . itd be nice if the genesis didnt have that problem...

Fuel tank stay next to rear wheel if no 4WS is used.
If user choose to use 4WS, fuel tank will need to be relocated to the center of the vechile. (with no parts required of course)

I will try to shoot the body picture on Monday. We have the theme done but actual body will be finished in a few days. Though i can get you the picture of engine next to NT16 by monday

do you think maxx power for the engine is found at 30,000 rpm? I think it will probly be around 20 - 25,000 rpm = maxx power, and im hoping the engine will rev up to about 35,000 rpm maxx, maby a bit more,

since its desinged as a car engine, most car engines rev to about 40,000 rpm + airplane type engines can only rev to 20-25,000 rpm then they explode. ha ha ha, ok seriously, i still want one so bad, im lucky my birth day is in febuary, so clost to christmas, I hope we can all wait to get one,

anxiously wating to see a body. and a vid. thanks mr cen for updating us. we are all in love with the truck,

any how, do you think the kong things would look as terible as they do on the maxxes and savages on our beloved cen genisis,

379
11-29-2003, 01:42 AM
itd be something like putting MT2 tires on a RC10GT or XXX-NT itd run and look halfway decent but would kill handling and lowend but it would increase top speed and ground clearance u might half to drop a tooth on 1st gear on the genisis but thats what a 3spd is 4 aint it what id like to see is the 2nd generation
Genisis with a 4spd and 60mph top speeds in 4th gear and wheelies in first 2nd and 3rd could keep the powerhouse .46 in its powerband for the speed gear and a .60 or so CEN 4 stroke option kit for the ultimat torque for those of u who want all out speed and the gears are too steep for the mighty .46 2stroke to pull but i doubt CEN will do that

CEN Racing
11-29-2003, 07:01 PM
I dont think the kong wheel will look good. Our wheel is extreme big with ultra low profile tire but the kong wheel is the other way around, thick tire with small wheels. I like big wheel with low profile tires. Look sexy and handle good.

I am sure we dont have any plan for stroke kit. But if everyone on earth have a gensis by then, we might just do that for the heck of it.

MegaMe
11-29-2003, 08:41 PM

That looks like a nice truck CEN, but you might have to start out by digging your way out of a whole, if the Genesis is not out by Christmas. I have also been one of the guys who have been sitting on the fence regarding the new CEN truck. It is the first truck since the launch of the Savage that has had me excited, this much. (I felt the same when I heard about the Monster GT, but after 1 year I am so ****** off that I will not buy it on principle & by now it's not different to anything else currently available)

CEN, will you increase the amount of outlets that you supply products to as many people buy over the net from Tower, Stormer etc. Currently none of them keep a single CEN product and if one looks at the EK4 volumes I believe that this is largely the reason as many customers rely on the net for 90% of all their purchases

good, so far im totaly saving to get one,

its un fortunate that the genisis wont be out for christmas, but you have to look at it this way, if the did a rush and slop job preparing it to be manufactured and shipped to go out for christmas, then we would all get one and have a rush/slop job on our trucks, and be mad about it, this way we now have a good truck to look foward to,

and atleast we are only wating 2 extra months, not a whole year like some thing I remember back a while ago,

+ my birth day is febuary 4th so maby I can get one of those for my bday.

im shure that cen wanted to release this truck for x mas but they have the integrety to hold it back to make shure that we get the best ( and biggest ) monster truck out. that makes me proud of cen.. good job,

You sure havn't been giving us many updates lately CEN. What have you been up to?

How about a pic or two with the new engine. How soon after the truck is realeased, do you expect spare parts to be coming out, or do you expect them to ship at the same time? Any chance you have secretly been very quite, because you are busy filling orders? I can't imagine there is much left to do.

You have your working rear exhaust engine. You have diffs, 3 speed, reverse, 4 wheel stearing, radio gear. You have even given a secondary mounting position for the fuel tank for when 4 wheel stearing is used, and have made the shocks up on the towers an option. You also mentioned that you would have pics of the body soon. So what are you working on??? Having the packaging made up? Or are you just about ready to send a crate of them over to this contenant??? :D

So what engine is that in front of the .46? It looks like it says 15 on the side of it. Yep, thats big all right.

And I can see that there is an air filter on there, but where it that pipe connected to?

CEN Racing

The Engine in front is our NT-16. The metal pipe is NT-16's manifold. ITs not connect to the .46.

he he he, the top cooling fin is bent, he he he, looks like you were playing, ha hah ahahah :D

so, what caused the fin to bend, you can at least tell us a whopper about how you jumped over a school bus and landed wrong or some thing to the extent of that,

ok, i am curious about the clutch bell, it is only 1 single gear, much like savage and maxx too, but there is a 3 speed for the truck, so the 3 speed meckanisim is in side the trannny?

I thought that the clutch bell would have 3 gears that mated to a 3 gear center diff, much like my schumacher fusion, if you wanted to you could probly make a aftermarket high/low extra gear set to the genisis by making the clutch bell a 2 gear type and adding a 2 gear type 2 speed ( cam and lever ) to the ring gear for the transmision, ( thus making the truck have 4 diffrent gear ratios that would automaticly shift as the truck drove ) this mod / hop up would require the engine to move backwards in the chassi about 1/4 of an inch but it could work if you were creative, and you guys are now the king of creativity, im coming back with a pic, http://www.kab.freeuk.com/images/dscf0008.jpg

hey, I do have that car, mine is not that exact car, but I am the owner of a shcumacher nitro fusion, and I diddnt mean that that car was jumped over a schoolbus, I meant that the engine that cen showed us for the genisis has the top cooling fin bent, I was implying that cen was doing something crazy like jumping over a school bus or some thing like that, with the genisis truck that made the cooling fin bend,

I enjoy my blazing fast shcumacher fusion, and mine looks alot like the one in the pic there more often than id like, it breaks all the time, thats what I get for driving like a maniac,'

ya, I diddnt mean that pic was my car, but I do have a schumacher fusion.

i probably will not be buying this truck

the reason being that i got a mt2 3 weeks ago and it was a cool truck, until the dogbones and drie cups started to break, the middle of the break disk rounded out, the throttle serveo craped out in three days, and oh yea the the shaft that bolts to the crank came loose so the bell could wiggle around and to my luck the clutch could still engage, ripping my spur gears to crap

no thanks

unless im imagining it sumone sed sumit bout this truk being a 4 speed not a 3 speed, its a 3 speed, people are thinking 2 gears outside tranny and 2 inside and then adding them, thats all well and true if u down shift one set of gears.
Think if u runing in 1st on the external gears and 1st on the internal gears ur in 1st gear, give it a lil gas and then the internal gear goes from 1st to second, so ur in 2nd gear, a lil more gas and the external gear goes from 1st to 2nd so ur in 3rd, so ur on 2nd internaly and 2nd externaly which is the 3rd gear combination. does this make sense?

external.........internal.......over all gear
1st..................1st................1st
1st..................2nd...............2nd
2nd.................2nd...............3rd

1st 2nd 2nd

no 1st would be both gearsets in 1st gear then the external gearset would shift into 2nd be4 the internal one even did anything one it is in second on the first gearset the internal one would shift to 3rd and then to 4th gear

the external thing was jsut an example but if had wat ur saying look at the result.
gear....external teeth...internal teeth...gear ratio
1st.........10.........................10......... ..........1.1
2nd........20..........................10......... ..........1.2
3rd.........10..........................20........ ............2.1
4th.........20...........................20....... .............1.1

same gear ratios mean no increasei n speed or accel.

12-05-2003, 02:02 PM
1st.........16.........................50......... ..........3.13:1
2nd........16..........................47......... ..........2.94:1
3rd.........16..........................45........ ............2.81:1
4th.........16...........................43....... .............2.69:1
factor in the diff ratio say 9:1 we get decent gear ratios

3rd and 4th are buried in the tranny itself with a gearset similar to a servo to creat the sample ratios but i believe CEN said it would be one clutch and 3spurs in the 3spd and the prototype they showed us only had 2 spurs but it was a prototype

I've been following this thread for quite some time now, and I must say I'm very impressed with thr routh CEN is going on this beast of a trunk. I'm really looking forward to purchasing one. How ever, I'm not going to just go out and buy one the day it comes out. I figure I'll wait about a month or two after it comes out, this way I can read what people think about it after actually using it and figuring out all it's kinks. Then I will make my final judgment. I'm most likely going to buy one, but I want to know what others think about it and how well it actually drives before I blow about $500.00. Umm.. I am very new to RC in general i have purchased a team trinity g4 pro kit and i would also like to get into monster trucks. mainly for bashing!!! I want the biggest truck availible and it seems this truck is supposed to be big. Although i have never seen it. If anyone could point me in the direction to see a pic of it that would be cool.

Also i have not heard many good things about CEN's quality, i'm trying not to offend anyone. I would just like an unbiased opinion about their support. I would have to purchase one off the net somewhere since i do not have a local hobby shop within an hour and a half away from me. I spend more in gas than i would in shipping :) plus i hate driving there. I just need to know how parts support is going to work and what hop ups ( there probably won't need to be any :) ) would be availible. Any info for this newbie would help. Thank you,

I hope they try to keep the weight down on the genesis for better handling, jumping, speed. So for these reasons I wouldnt care if the genesis lost. The twin titan must be HEAVY (I know the single engine one is) so having another engine added weight at the rear would help the titan greatly in a tug match.

im kinda curious as to how much mud it takes to get it stuck i have some knarly mud so soft a big full size tractor does burnouts in it if not drove right and i wanna know if the genisis can get thru that ive already gotten my mt2 stuck in it and thru it i hit it at around 45mph(2nd gear and leaned out as much as possible without losing the blue smoke trail) and it exited at about 5mph with more mud on the truck than under it when it came out the chassis scraped on the slightest bump and it weighed nearly 12lbs when i killed it i still havent reset my gear mesh but one thing i can say is that sir filter is very good at stopping the mud the filter weighed double its normal weight but it didnt get thru there was so much in it that when i let it idle to kill it it quit due to all the mud clogging the filter and it was running rich because of it i have re richened it back and have yet to run it since but it was fun

Ken, I understand. I know how the holidays are, and i'm sure you get hundreds of e-mails a day. Just was really looking forward to this truck, and the e-mail just took the wind out of my sails. But with the explanation that you guys are updating i can understand the reason, and can't wait to see this monster!

CEN, any chance we are going to get a look at that body any time soon, or are you guys keeping that under wraps?

Do you have any pics of the beast next to a tmaxx or Savage?

Is the heatsynch going to be just plain, or are you going to put something fancy on it?

Just pull start, or have you figured out some sort of starting system?

lerningdriver
01-07-2004, 06:06 PM
hey guys... I haven't been in here for some time now! my comp got mest up about 2 days after this thread started

anyway, any pics of that thing next to a person? or any dimensions? any vids? release date? engine specifations?

i'm sorry if these queshtions have already been answered before but I really don't have time to read 18 pages of info right now.

tnx.

BTW: any info on list price? this thing isn't going cheap with 4ws, 4wd, 2gears forward/reverse, 10 shocks with piggybacks, and a .46!

onroadrider1
01-07-2004, 09:32 PM
Well I deal directly with CEN and my sales rep was saying febuary was the release for it , but that was over a month ago. When I ask him now all he say is "we will release it when it's done". The word is that they plan to price it to be competative with the savages and t maxxs. The .46 will come pull start but will have a drill start as an option. Oh and it is three speeds forward / reverse.

lerningdriver
01-08-2004, 06:00 PM
they actually expect you to PULL START a .46???

well, better go to the weight room :D

Yeah, better put the gloves on for this one. When I was breaking in my Savage 25 (that I just got for Christmas, sorry CEN), I had to stand on the rollbar/handle, and yank on the thing.

I think pull starting the .46 when it is broken in will be fine. But when it is fresh and tight, will be really tough.

Why don you leave it clear so that the buyer can paint their own design on it.

still no specs on the servos, radio, etc???

Yeah, an update.lol Well, I say keep it clear so everyone's is different. Be different instead of the same. And as for the body, do like a Crowd Pleaser type of body so it's racey looking. I say that's a very nice touch.

Just wanted to comment on something that I saw too many people mention about the top shocks acting like a anti-sway bar. That does not appear to be the case. An anti-sway bar is a device that as one side of the suspension is articulated (moved), also applies force to the other side in the same direction. For example, in cornering, as the outside suspension moves upward the anti-sway bar applies force so that the inside suspension arms are also moved upward. The setup on the Genesis looks like as upward force is applied to one side, a downward force would be applied to the other side... exactly the opposite of a anti-sway bar setup.

My question is, how does this affect handling? I would think that this would actually have an adverse affect.

Maxx_A_Million
01-17-2004, 08:38 PM
yup. . . but it looks cool as hell. . .

im gonna take em off and keep em for when i blow shock caps or bend shafts. . .

and then... i was at the trakc todya and the only truck i didnt see break at all was the savage. . . unless CEN can prove durabbility as good as or better than the savage, i dunno WHAT im gonna get. . . my dad says that if i get another r/c it needs to be a 1/8 buggy, but i like MT andi always have. . . i dunno. . .

biker dude 666
01-18-2004, 09:00 AM
ok maybe not an excursion but something like a ford f-150 not the new ones but the ones that are supercrew. a 2003 f-150 supercrew. my dad has ones and i think it would look good on the new genesis. i have a cen sp1 for anybody who doesnt know thats a touring car. and mine hasnt broke yet and let me tell you when i first started driving i had alot of run ins with hard things like curbs and driveways and nothing hads broke yet in the year i have had it. i just had to get new wheels and tires so if this new truck is as durable as my car then it will really last and people will be amazed. cen has always had good quality.

i don't care what body comes on it, when mine comes in i'll have a chevy truck body ready for it to match my real truck, just like i did with my tmaxx. i'm more interested in the chassis than the body anyhow. who cares what it looks like, it's what's underneath that counts :D and this genisis looks like it will count twice!

Just got the march 2004 R/C CAR magazine they have a first look of the prototype Genesis. They also interviewed Andy "a major dude at Cen Racing" who has driven it.
Here are a few bits out of the article.
Its HUGE more like 7th scale.

He (Andy) says its awesome to drive but totally different cause of the 4ws.

The 3-speed tranny was rad- great power with the .46 and its fast. This is without the correct engine in it (tested with the side exhaust). Production will be rear exhaust and be even crazier.

The shocks seen so far are are mock-ups the production ones will have more volume Shocks are something to behold large bodies and hold lots of oil

Diffs are like those in a 7.5 Kania MP buggy and way smooth.

Tranny- 2 external gearsets and an additional set inside gearbox.

Manufactured treir own servos.
Driveshafts are huge

Some disappointing news for me. My lhs wont be selling it.
GET THIS
I asked the lhs guy about it and his reply was "Why would I want to sell that garbage. Its just a rip-off of the savage and Im not going to sell them."
Now whats even more lame than the above statement is the lhs kid that works there said "Look at the anodizing its coming off of it." This from a picture in the article the anodizing on the plate by the rear tire has what looks like some rocks hit the plate while testing I would guess. Now I'm thinking show be a truck that has been used and used like it should be and doesnt have some anodizing off of it.
Now about the only thing that I would expect to not have anodizing off of it is a shelf queen aluminum maxx.
