well, check out the website. I upload 1 pic on the front page yesterday to show how much suspension can travel. I also upadate the engine picture with correct rear exhaust engine with manifold and metal tuned pipe. As you can see, its pretty close.

CEN can this thing rock crawl

racinlosi
01-25-2004, 06:13 PM
Wow! That's amazine! I think that this thing can rock crawl! And also, isn't the engine a 4 stroke? If so, It can definently rock crawl!!!!!!!!!!:D

379
01-25-2004, 06:20 PM
its a 2stroke but i think u could cram a .60-.80 airplane 4 stroke in there fairly easy and the clutch would hold up to it

01-26-2004, 11:39 AM
I just talked to the dude at my lhs and he said everything cen made so far was garbage so they don't even plan on considering stocking the genesis.

also, if you look closely, with that size engine and a 3 speed tranny, that thing will get some speed and break REALLY easy especially when the pieces are as thin as they are. Look at the BFT, every part on it is designed to last and you can see that...
what i'm saying is it'll be like hitting balsa wood with a sledgehammer.

BTW: maxx a million, i'm a sophmore too, send me an im sometime...

just because a person works in a hobby shop doesnt make then the supreme all knowing RC master. i have personally owned a CEn product, as well as many products from team losi, associated, HPI, Kyosho, HOtbodies, tamiya, and traxxes. i can say that i really bashed hard on that CEN truck and it held its own very well. infact CEN recently beat many modified T-Maxx trucks at some sort of race, you can view it on thier web page. people just dog on CEN products because they dont have any direct experience with them. give the truck time to come out and prove itself, lets not make up things while we wait.

biker dude 666
01-26-2004, 03:35 PM
hell some of the hobby shop people might not even own a cen poroduct they just sasy what some peopl,e tell them. i also own a cen. its a touring car. oh yeah and the cen monster truck that beat your t-maxx was bone stock:p ha ha ha ha ha laughing histarically:D :D

01-28-2004, 01:13 PM
psssssst, ( verry low wisper )
hey viper, your not suposed to say that until after you get approved as a dealer.

hehehehehe, ok, serieusly, I was wating and wating and wating, finaly I got a good idea of how this truck will kick butt. but me being a impatient 23 year old "little kid" I got a monster gt from associated. i was dissapointed it did not wheely out of the box, so today im breaking in my picco .26 ( p3 monster) I just finished second tank, man that pull start is killing me!!!!!!!!!!!!! and if that wasnt enough, the cooling fins on the head are sharp little buggers. so I got some nice little cutts on one hand, and some nice blisters on the other. hehehehe,
but no pain no gain,

hey cen, does the genisis wheely out of the box? and can you finalize the wheel base for us? 15 inches? longer?

Viperrgh2
01-28-2004, 05:23 PM

Looks good... but the roll bar look cheesy compared to the truck size!!!

Also the tuned pipe is from a plane not a car!

What do you guys think?

CEN Racing
01-31-2004, 01:33 AM
roll bar is not finalize but it will comes with one. Tuned pipe is special design for truck just like the engine. ITs not a airplane pipe as you can see the special design on the pipe external.

The tune pipe does not look at all like a monster truck tune pipe!

Also the external 2 speed looks pretty weak compared to the engine size! I'm concern about durability...

Also the undeside of the truck (between the twin vertical plates chassis), is all open, I'm concern about that also. Will you close it or keep it open and be vurnerable!!!

hope you are doing to fix those problems...

Build is strong end everybody will buy it... I want to spend me time playing with it... not fixing it...

Viperrgh2
01-31-2004, 07:29 PM
Woah make way for Maximus RC truck experct he knows more then the cen design team... I think the pipe looks fine have you every seen what a pipe for a .46 engine should look like? just cause its got cooling fins to help cool doesnt mean it aint a truck pipe..

Maxx_A_Million
01-31-2004, 08:15 PM
lol... the pipe does look a bit... wierd though... hey CEN, will a .21 pipe fit on this thing and will it increase performance or decrease it??

379
01-31-2004, 10:02 PM
i would compare that to taking a 350 small block and putting stock civic pipes on it

Maxx_A_Million
01-31-2004, 10:04 PM
. . . thats about 2 notches extreme. . .
more like putting malibu pipes on a corvette. . .

biker dude 666
02-01-2004, 06:47 PM
i dont know about you guys but i would put 4 inch ppipes on the 350 thats in the malibu and put 4 nch pipes on the 427 in the corvette too. why put civic pipes on a perfectly good 350. leave the cute little civics to the cute little punks that drive em:mad: sorry but i hate rice burners and anything that has anything to do with them and thier crappy cars. man am i mean. oh well;)

379
02-01-2004, 07:09 PM
the civic pipes on a 350 small block is an analogy to putting a .21 pipe on the genesis's .46

hell yeah a lowering kit fart can 1500lbs of bs and crap suv rims and 30seris tires a performance car does not make power power and more power a big block v8 (perferably hemi but im a mopar guy) a perfomance car doth make those cars are too hard to drive for the teen and early 20 yr old kids trying to drive them that tailgate u

anyways i think this thread has been hijacked again so lets get back to the genesis

The day this thing goes on pre-oreder is the day my checking acount loses wuite a bit of weight. I've been floowing this thread for a while and this thing looks and seams like it could take on the world and not stop for anything. I'm really looking forward to the release. Speaking of, any release date set in stone yet CEN? Also, do you have a set MSRP?

sorry i just had to get my input in about those litte turds :D
ANYWAY.. cen is comin out with a mt with a .46?! tell me more! i had no freakin idea.. from what i heard cen doesn't make good quality products though:confused:....

379
02-03-2004, 05:54 PM
durable is the word 4 CEN stuff my MT2 has stumbled into anything u can imagin a tire on something parked a brick wall a tree my leg half the bmx ramp and all the damage it took was runnin outta gas on a jump and bending a shock tower but that was fixed with pliers there is still an s in it to prove it but my digicam wont catch it

spy5870
02-03-2004, 06:03 PM
really?! thats cool. i've always heard they were junk, but you can't always trust the bs people feed you. thats rad too, cuz cen products are pretty cheap... now what about the .46 genesis?!

379
02-03-2004, 06:08 PM
yup 2 gallons on mine one dirt intake enuff to cover the carb rim and one overheat stall and i can still pick it up on its compression like day one i push mine rather hard too bottoming it out alot on 4footers
mud boggin
snowthrowin
grass rompin
puddlebombin
smoke blowin
racket makin
and crashin
and it still runs and will wheelie about as much as my lawn tractor one inch yes my 16hp murray will wheelie and my truck is on par with it and about as reliable ive had more than i can count one pull starts too

spy5870
02-03-2004, 06:10 PM
LOL your lawnmower can wheelie?! i'd be cuttin the grass constantly!! thats um a good poem there, but you still haven't told me about the .46 MT! :D

379
02-03-2004, 06:14 PM
yeah my front engines $300 murray 46" 16hp briggs powered wornout tractor that needs new belts and deck binders can wheelie at half throttle full throttle and im bettin i could make with a good tmaxx + genesis engine imitation be4 the maxx broke as in i bet i could put it on its back at wot and its so worn out it blue smokes with the choke on

379
02-03-2004, 06:16 PM
never try to wheelie a snapper it will come 180* they be rear engined and will wheelie on command and if the front end comes down rubber side first the axles will bend i have a tuff murray with a tuff reliable briggs and is the lawn tractor version of my MT2 no breakage very reliable and strong

Maxx_A_Million
02-03-2004, 07:18 PM
haha. . . you have a newer snapper huh? we had an old OLD one and me and my borther could hold a wheelie in 5th gear for about 15 feet! hahaha...
we had to start on a hill and we eventually wore out the clutch. . . but it was fun as hell... then we got a new murray mower witht he front engine and we tried it on the hill and he just about broke hsi neck ebcause it did flip. . . hehehe

379
02-03-2004, 07:21 PM
my freind has the snapper i have an opld worn out 16hp briggs boxer in the front of a murray 46" that needs new belts and blade brakes mine will come up on level ground at half throttle and its nearly worn out i give it 3 seasons tops be4 rebuild time

EDIT :1 changed disk to blade:p

379
02-03-2004, 07:30 PM
if my main brakes fail i can simply let off the throttle control it is hydrostatic and u set hte desired rpm and once it hit it u can press the accelerator and go that way that makes it wheelie nicely and if u let off it will stop and match the pace of a snail to coast u simply pull the lever that lets u push it that comes in handy when u are goin down hill and want to save gas or just coast driving it to another jobsite mine will make it .5miles be4 overheating

that only applies to kids who take a civic and try to make it perform by adding xbox ps2 subwoffers lowrin kit suv rims with funky patterns and spinners on them and nitrous and a new engine to carry the bulk aroundd a lifted 350 dont fall in that category does it

Yes, Genesis 46 comes with a "rear exhaust" .46 engine. which is 7.6-7.7cc. This "rear exhaust" engine is special design for truck not a heli engine drop in.

perhaps... but an r/c doesnt have a fuel pump... plugging the stinger would still be more effective as both a cutoff and a choke... do you cover your carb when you prime?

yo CEN, any word yet on wether this thing will have a rotostart or pullstart (or both like the MGT)

i have been known to but i usually just plug the pressure line at the input to the tank slam the fuel tank lid and repeat for priming then crank it over a few times then attach glo starter and it kicks right over pretty quick one pull on occasion if i crank it enuff after i prime it 3 pulls is usually the cranking but i have gone 10 pulls be4 putting hte starter on

i think fuel pumps would make a dandy adition to rc and chokes too

2 F45T 4 U
02-17-2004, 03:48 AM
a choke on a real car lets more fuel than air in, by covering ur exahust on an rc ur putting both more fuel and air in, i.e priming

379
02-17-2004, 04:52 AM
ive found using my method is much faster and more reliable if ur tank supports it my MT2 has twin pressure taps one on each side most tanks wont allow it and i cant seal the pipe to prime

CEN have u ever thought some owners(me included :D ) would mudbog the genesis i have a mudpatch that will get a large 6cyl turbocharged tractor stuck if u dont drive the tractor right and want to tackle it but i know 4 a fact the MT2 just cant take that kind of mudbog as i got my MT2 stuck in a mudbog that was created from cars flattening the grass next to a driveway u think the genesis can acually get thru it without getting stuck as it comes out of the box or will the diffs need locking
