I have an OS .21 RGX in my tmaxx and this thing has OMG power. It has so much torque that it wheelies over like nothing and is downright scary. When you drive it on the track it feels like a wild willy 2 wanting to wheelie....... If anyone is even thinking about putting a .26 or so, your downright nuts... lol No one needs more power than an OS .21 RGX in a tmaxx!

lol, sounds like fun. If you have the capabilities you should video tape it and upload it for us. The biggest I have seen is a maxx was a sirio .18. That thing was fast on the track, ripping around corners and easily clearing doubles and if the driver got the correct run off the corner he could clear some long triples. Awesome engine.

I have an extended aluminum skid plate in the rear which serves as a skidplate, its big enough, and basically when I peg the throttle, the wheels go up and it uses the skidplate as a jump!
On the track it was impossible to accelerate with the .21. For bashing it will be fun, but better richen up the bottom end!

Or maybe you should learn this ancient art called "throttle control."

I wouldn't put anything over a .18 in the T-Maxx .. Since it can pretty much keep up with low to mid-end .21s at a cheaper cost.

for the price of a .189sirio) you could probly get a .21 and a .21 kit from ebay and still be the same cost, so cost shouldnt be an issue because ov how close they are. I have an RG-X in my truck and its stripped out my stock gears and it was fun when it happened but a .21 is alot for the wimpy trans, you should get something with a 1/8 trans like the JT HRC or I even saw a guy's truck who put a monster pirate trans mounted on the lower center skid and his monster pirate trans was bolted to it and some chassis and some center braces needed some mods, but it would be sweet. But if you get a .21 for your Maxx, you should invest in a Ofna Titan center trans with the dual disk brakes and a 2 speed, because that would be sweet. and it would probly fit with few modifications plus drivshafts.

Yes i do know how to drive any RC, You name it, and I have had it or driven every class of RC. Thing is, on my track with bowties, they hook up so much, that this thing wheelies like crazy, you can get the front to bump up and down like a low rider... lol
I'm not saying it is terrible, but its just way too much power for this truck. Today I broke my first part, a rear axle yoke and it looks like the sliders are begining to twist.
This is a New Era .21 kit chassis, new era rear slider and everything else I put in it. I have a thunder tiger header and pipe, and I built my own linkage, so the pipe is flush with the chassis instead of really high up.
Will
PS-I will keep everyone updated with what I break with this truck from a mild .21 engine conversion on a stock tranny. So as of now, one of the rear yokes.

Sure you can pickup a .21 conversion for under the price of a Sirio 3.0, it just depends on which engine you use. Get one with a little too much power, the driveshafts, tranny, diffs. will be destroyed in no time .. Might as well pick up a vehicle that was made for the .21, unless you have money to burn .. Heh.

I know Will pretty well, mainly from when RCCA's live chat actually got people to go in it. It was just a friendly little smartass comment. Why does nobody appreciate some well-placed sarcasm any more? :p

Yea dave is just a little arrogant, snide, and a complete RC noob.... :p (just to add a little sarcasm...)
Anyways I bought the OS .21 RGX and new era kit brand new from a friend. I havn't bought a yoke yet, but I am starting to see this becoming a money pit. Hmm maybe I should just throw the OS in my X4 xr works and give the RB some rest.... Just a thought.

You're going to spend $3k on a truck and you're 12 years old? How does that work?

I don't know why but if I add a grand total, If I didn't use any of it, I would have nearly $15,000. But you know I have to go right out and spend it. I can't keep money for more than 2 weeks at the most. For Christmas, I get atleast $600 and my birthday I get around $500. It will be a two year project. If my parents or grandparents are really nice this year, I might be able to get the project done by next Christmas.
