View Full Version : Homemade MT Building Plans? Help

Is there anything of the such? Cause this year I am taking a course in school called Precision Machining and basically after 1 semister of teaching you how to work the machines properly and learn the gauges they let you go. Build engines, engine parts, etc. So I thought what about building a custom r/c MT. I want to build a 1/10 scale MT. I figure Ill have to spend at least a $200+ on good radio recivers, engine (quite frankly those are way too tiny for me to mess with), body, and tires. I figue alot of other things I could machine from metal w/ a design template. That is what I was asking you guys for. Is there anyone out there that has one that I could look at and mod to fit my needs? Oh, and I think I wanna make it a dual engine truck, unless I go w/ a .21 or bigger. But I may need to since it will all be aluminum, and that I plan on getting those jumbo tires from imex (gives ya an idea on how high I want it to set) Any suggestions?

hmmm, txt would be nice. Now does any1 have any pics of just the chassis and framing? I need that to do my sketches.

As far as I know, there are no plans available. What I would do, is look around and see what designs others are using and design your own, incorporating a little of each type to suit what you want to do with it, then print out your own template on heavy paper. As mentioned by big1s, a TXT would be a good place to start. You might also try New Era (http://www.neweramodels.com/) , as they also have frames, tho, they are tube-type, but, they'll point you in the direction you need to be in.

what scale is it and where do you find them?
The Micro Monster truck is just that: Micro or 1/18th scale. That's a Micro body on it and it's running over some micro RS4's.
