I have been thinking about a buggy or electric truck and I am starting to lean to the truck (parts are easy to find and more suitable to my area). A friend of mine has an electric TC3 and it is pretty fast, it holds its own against my HPI nitro Racer 2. I know the T4 is supposed to be more torquey, but will there be a big speed difference between it and an onroad electric car?

The question is why is his TC3 keeping up with your Racer2? Is it because your Racer2 is slow (you running a 15FE in it) or is it because he's running a low-turn or brushless motor? As for your Racer2, what engine do you have in it? Are you running a two-speed? What pipe?

In a straight line, the chassis itself won't make too much of a difference as long as you are comparing similar chassis. The TC3 is lighter and 4WD so it will always have an advantage in a drag race over the T4. Take it offroad and the T4 will have a huge advantage especially if there are jumps involved.

first, its geared for bottom end, it peels out on take offs. i dont know how fast its going and we have never raced, it just looks to me that the tC3 is going the same speed maybe its because his has a body on it.
btw i am running a yokomo .12, its supposed to have 1.0 hp or 1.1, no 2 speed and an XTM chrome pipe with a warped and dented header

It's pretty difficult to compare the speeds of two cars unless they are running side-by-side in a drag race. My brother found that out the hard way that it is difficult to judge speed just by looking at it moving away from you (my Micro RS4 with an Orion BigBlock and six cells passed his race-ready TC3 with a tuned P2K2).
