Well today finished up the 2 day championship held by my lhs. I was racing in the mini cooper class. The first day of qualifieing went smoothly, it looked like I wouldn't have much trouble landing 3rd, 2nd or maybe even 1st. Well, we had one more qualifier this morning, and that was the start of my troubles. All the really good racers showed up, even the TCS regional champion. On the first qualifier I did poorly, I was glitching all around, and ended up last, but that was still ok because they used the best times to set starting places in the main (so I used my best time from yesterday).
Well I pulled in after the qualifier, and tryed re-routing the wires and stuff like that, come the first main, I was still glitching. After I talked to some people, I basically determined all the FM radios everyone was using was drowning out my old AM jr python radio. I was not even able to finish the 2nd main, and I didn't even finish a lap in the final main.
After that, I was pretty dissapointed. I helped pack up the track and then the raffle started off. Well after sitting around for nearly an hour I didn't get anything, but they were coming up to the bodies and then after that would be the big stuff. I gave the tickets to my mom and headed to the bathrooms. When I came back I had a ford f150 super nitro body. Thats great, though I still wasn't able to trade it for anything :p. Well once the bodies were finished up, the raffled off a JR XR3i, and the last item, a Tamiya F201. Low and behold, I won the F201! Well, I didn't exactly need it, nor have enough money to buy new electronics and start racing it. Luckily, the guy who won the XR3i was left handed, so he couldn't really use it, since they were similar prices we just traded strait up.
Now I have an FM radio for the whole next years racing season (too bad there is no indoor track close to me).
PS, I know some of you would say thats a bad deal strait up, the radio for the car, but bottom line is, I couldn't really use the car, and the guy couldn't use the radio, plus I have a good metal gear servo as well (came with the radio). :)
Well I guess I just needed to vent...:p
