I have a fairly stock Tmaxx that will soon have the 2.5 engine, and an Unlimited Engineering Widetrac suspension; I want to ditch the stock shocks but I'm getting caught in the hype of colors and piggyback reservoirs and stuff.

The truck will be used for some street/yard bashing and learning to race on a dirt track. I will dial in the oil and springs of course but I have no idea whose shock I should use. I was thinking of the Traxxas Big Bores but I want a threaded shock so they are out.

Do I really need those sweet looking Progressive shocks with reservoirs? Any advice?

For an extra $100, the progressive piggybacks aren't worth it. People have had problems with the EDC-2 shocks anyway. I'd suggest the Integy treaded shocks. The new versions have piggybacks and only cost around $100 for a set of 8. The old versions don't have piggybacks and people complain of leakage. I have the older Integys. They are sweet, but they don't leak. The newer or older Integy's would be the best.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll check out the Integy shocks.
