hope you kept your recipts! u will most likely be able to get the insurance company to get it back for you. that sucks the big one though:eek:

most of the stuff i got in trades and from friends over the years so i might have a couple but not many
rcguy2477
08-26-2003, 09:55 PM
That has to suck some major balls. Was your rc stuff the only stuff they took? If so, it would have to be someone into rc, because most people dont know how much they are worth and have never heard of them. I would go around on days they race at your lhs and check for any stolen items. You could also look on sites such as ebay for your stuff. I hope you find all your stuff. All that has to be worth at least 5000.
HyperLosi
08-26-2003, 10:36 PM
try and see if you can get recipts from friends/lhs on the stuff you had
bigmike216
08-26-2003, 11:01 PM
also try and look for pictures with your r/c's in them, if theyve got pictures, you can proove you owned them.

if your LHS' sells used stuff, let them know of what happened, and if someone tries to put something for sale in the shop, they should call the police.
good luck
also keep an eye out on the streets if you can....who knows, they may decide to have a lil un deserved fun with your stuff.
also check with anyone that you might have shown off your stuff too....jealousy may be the factor in this case, agian who knows
and watch for any stalkers...or anyone that tends to end up on your tail alot... yes yes i know that would be beeing to protective...but you just never know.......
i myself couldnt survive a lose like that.
i really hope things come around for you
i hope you find your stuff and catch who did this pathetic act.

you're gunna make him paranoid :)
Get the local track owner, LHS owner to write you some proof of what you have and it's value. Receipts are not much good for alot of things cause my house got robbed once and the depreciation the insurance company assumes is crazy! The amount they give you(if they do) is not even close to what it cost to replace something used. You'd be real lucky to get 33%!
Kermit
08-27-2003, 12:26 AM
Not many jp modified engines.... Keep your eyes open on ebay and be sure to let local tracks know they might be able to spot a new guy with a nice new big setup.

you may be surprised to know that some insurance companies are real good at paying what you were out..i know mine did a nice job of replacing stuff that was damaged and stolen....what i did was go to the LHS and get them to write you a reciept of all the stuff that is missing in SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE(always higher than selling price)and then take the reciept to the ins co..with the MSRP higher that gets rid of the depreciation value that they always assess...
hope this helped ya some

Sorry for your loss. If you live in a place where there aren't many rc's around your bound to find out who did it. check with LHS's and maybe even pawn shops around. But it seems they knew what to take so they might be into rc. It may have been someone who lives near by and saw the cool rc's you owned and got into criminal behavior. Actually not too long ago my LHS was robbed and they stole customer cars not the kits. It was around $3000 they had to pay back customers. a week later there where roll up bars in front of the store window.

suxors man. I hate to hear about that!! :(
Man, that is not right. If you have pics of your car, post here so that we can look out for it. Who knows, it might turn out on ebay, here, or other rc boards.

sorry about your loss but the fact that he just sat there being cozy is hysterical.
nique "you are a trained guard dog and you missed all that racket?"
dog "No, I heard it. Those people are criminals. Criminals are dangerous. If you think I'm getting off this rug and risking my skin over some toy cars, your nuts. Now get me some biscuits or I'll bite you."

Well I wish you the best of luck in recovering your loss. I know what it's like to go through this. My car was broken into once and I had 4 of my rc cars, radio, tools, charger, batteries, and about $5000 worth of software from work stolen. Unfortunately it was never recovered. You'd think that on an island these things would be easier to find...but no.

Tell your local pawnshops or LHS's to look out for it. and when ever theres a race at any of your LHS's go there and watch out for it.

Sounds like By waht they stole They had been scoping your home Thats very particuler stuff they stole I would have to say look at you neighborhood or ANYONE who has been in your garage in the last few months, It seems thought out the cars and the tools then the cd player was the cd player out in sight or on a shelf?
Man all I can say is who ever did it needs to pay!!!!! Come on I mean robbing a hurt guys garage (I would look in to the fact that maybe somebody new that you were not very mobile?) man if somebody tryed that with me they would get an ARSE full of upland Game load if I caught them in the act!!!
I hope they find them, And maybe if they go to jail have some of your police friends Get the other inmates" to work them over" J/K on that one, but I hope there caught!!

I swear it's a buddy or a neighbor. It's someone who knew what was there and didn't show threat to the dog. Even untrained dog's can sense fear for themselves and their owner so this person has been to your house before I'd bet money on it. If they are smart they'll sell it elsewhere from nearby so you don't catch them. Check ebay and every other auction site you can name. Also put it in your sig to watch for it here and maybe someone will pm you that some one was trying to sell your stuff. Another idea is to put out an ad in the local paper wanting to buy something similiar to what you had under a different phone number than yours. That way if it's a dumb kid he'll call.

its either a neighbor or some one who had a vehicle, ask all the neighbors if they saw a vehicle near your house or in the drive, put an add in the paper asking if anyone was driving through that area and saw a vehicle to please call, put up flyers around your neighborhood and local area on telephone polls. Call the paper or news and see if they could put it on the news or front page, local man robbed of 5grand plus of stuff, if anyone saw...blah blah blah.

nique consider this possibility:
I have a very VERY mellow golden retriever. Never bitten anyone and even when I try to get rough with her and wrestle she backs off. She's even good around babies. But when the pizza guy cpmes to the door, the hair stands up on her back and she flips out, it's all I can do to contain her.
My point is that dogs are protective by nature, trained or not. They flip out with strangers.
Considering the very pointed attack - these guys knew what they were looking for, where it was - what's the chance this is someone you know? That the dog KNEW them so didn't raise an alarm?
I know it's a hard possibility to consider but the only times I've had anything of value stolen it was by people I thought were my friends.

You got it all wrong, dude. I didn't mean to imply your wife stole the stuff, LOL! I meant for you to ask her about people she might know, who the dog would be familiar with, that could have stolen it.
If your wife wanted to hose you, all she's got to do is divorce you. That would screw you for good!

Someone posted above to go to your LHS and have them print you a price list of all the things you have. This will suffice most insurance companies as long as you have it notorized.
My buddy was in the same predicment. His car stereo equipment was stolen. He bought 3/4 the stuff used. So he had the guy write up a list of everything he bought from him and the price. Then had my aunt notorize it and he got his money back from the insurance company.
They even stole a pitchfork? That had to be for comic releif.
Yeah I would check these boards and ebay for package deals including your stuff or individual items matching your things but have the same initial date they were posted on there.
Hope it works out for you

I'll give ya 500 for the duc :)
Sounds like a pretty good story. For a $20,000 bike it seems like it would easier to just stab ya in the chest and throw the body into a river. He is an ex-con ya know.. risky buisness cutting deals with scum. Check to see if the bike is hot too... then call the cops anyways.
