Another Wow reading that article, they finnally redid the fuel tank, say the pick up is in the rear and it has a ceramic filter!!!! I hope my SS comes with that tank.
 Just got my Savage 21. If I knew this one was coming I would have waited. I hope some of the parts are interchangeable. I like the gas tank changes. May have to upgrade to the new motor too w/roto-start. Looks like overall stock for stock the new one's better. Upgrading to new stock parts from the 25 may be cheaper than going with after market hop ups. Guess I'll have to hurry up and wait :D

It is good to see that HPI is abandoning the 21bb motor.....it wasn't a moment too soon! That POS had no right to even be called a 21. My fear is that the S-25 isn't going to be much better. HPI aparently feels the need to further their reputation for making horrific engines. That article specs a 7mm carb on the 25....which is the same as the 21bb. The 25 isn't going to have much top end with that sized opening. I guess they are hoping the bottom end torque will make people forget about how weak the motor is on the top end.
it might be a good move for HPI to sell the kit at like $240 with no motor, and let people choose the right motor for the truck (since HPI hasn't been able to do that yet.)

I've got a 7mm restrictor in my WS7 and it flies. Just because it has a relatively small carb throat(for a .21 or .25) doesn't mean it will automatically be slow.

Guys, if you liked the force/Ofna .25, then you will like this motor, it is the same engine. Just as the .21 BB is the same as the force p4.

good on HPI - keep the market moving - and the competition on it's toes.
I bet that new tank will be in HIGH demand.
has a down side tho - wish I'd waited another few months to get a savage - could have had a better baseline for my truck at little extra expense. - ho hum - still gonna have to get me a .26 tho!
can't wait to see the associated offering when it arrives, and the impact on the market. Currently the savage seems to be highly popular, the Maxx, as always, remains popular, if a little tired, so roll on BFT to see what happens! Lots of BFT vs Savage threads, what's faster.....

meh, thats all fine and dandy but it aint got that SS in it, why not buy the kit and you get the killer engine!:o
When will you simple"Savagians" learn... POWER IS THE KEY:D
You will rule the playground:p
Plus that kit is probably WAY cheaper in the long run too:rolleyes:

The Savage .25 RTR is the same as the SS kit except for the roto start and radio that comes with it. The engine's are the same. I just hope when I do order one it doesn't take 3 months to get it like my Savage .21 did! Any realease date yet?

Actually there are many differences between the SS and 25RTR. Adjustable camber, better chassis plates, machined engine head, stiffer springs softer tires and a bunch of other stuff are on the SS only.

But the engines are the same if I am correct? That is the major difference from the Savage 21 and they updated and improved some things on the .25 rtr but what was it that they changed? I just now I want one NOW!:D

Don't worry - you can add any parts from the 25 to the 21. In other words, you can turn your 21 into a 25 if you want to. Also, after you wear out your 21 engine, just ship to HPI and they'll send you a 25 for $99.00 :)

Is it true that you really won't notice a whole lot of difference between the .21 and .25? I wanted to get the new Savage but everyone I talked to about it said it's not worth buying if you already have an old Savage, is this really true?

If you have the stock 21 still I would just use it till its dead and then do the trade in on the .25. Most of the truck is the same. The 25 is faster and has more power, I put a hurting on a Maxx today with my SS!!!!

Most people strongly support the vehicles they already have. Both the T-Maxx and the Savage 21 have their advantages, but now that the Savage 25 is coming out that basically eliminates all the advantages the T-Maxx had over it (electric start, 40+mph, etc.). I think the only advantage the Maxx still has is reverse, which some people don't even want.
But, to each his own.
