Thoughts? Opinions?

I'm thinking of getting one. Getting back into the hobby after a few years. Building a GP RV-4 right now to get the feeling again. I was reading some stuff on the Funtana, and thought it looked like a good acro plane. And although this may be a totally n00b question....wth does 3D mean? I know...total n00b question. I fly 1:1 aerobatics, and never heard the term. Maybe it just exists in the model world? Please enlighten me, as I'm just returning into the hobby.
TIA!

Gotta fly!

There is a huge thread about this plane at the other 'Zone. Some people have been converting them to electric using monster brushless motors, like the Hacker B-50.

3D is hard to explain untill you see it. It is basically tight, close in aerobatics that would have a full scale pilot leaking out the sides of the plane. Usually the planes have at least a 1:1 thrusht ratio so they can hover.

Go to (without the first period) e.zonemag.com then go to discussion, the go to 'sport planes' and there is a thread about the planes with hundreds of posts, i think. Good luck

Ah, good Jonathan, thanks. I thought that's what 3D meant. It's such a strange phrase, seeings as ALL flight is in 3D, whether it's aerobatic or not. Amercians and their buzzwords....
Anyway, I'll take a gander at the sites, thanks again.

Thats what i thought, untill i saw '3D' flight for the first time. Look around for videos in the 'Backyard' forum over there, i think kepople recently posted one of a 'Tribute 3D' flying at a local fly-in. It had a tighter turning radius than an RC car, looks likeit was going to cut its tail off! cool stuff
