Is the savage SS right for me?

I'm thinking of getting my first nitro r/c. I've heard good things from savage owners and I'm thinking of getting one. Of course, It will be a basher with the occasional racing. Would a savage ss be right for what I want to do?

also, what would I need to make it ready to run? I already have a radio, reciever and servos.

This won't be my 1st rc, just my 1st nitro

battery pack, fuel, throttle return spring, zip ties, fuel bottle, do you have standard or high torque servo? if normal get high torqe servo!! An i think its gaet kit, and its excelent that its a KIT!!

Its a Hitec 645mg. It has 134oz/in, metal gears and ball bearings

If your looking into getting a savage as your first RC then wait an extra month and get the new HPI savage .25 RTR
it will be just what you need..

#1 radio gear installed

#2 roto start installed

better fuel tank and hubs

you'll be all set

The Savage ss has the .25 engine, and I don't think they are planning to put the .25 in the rtr version. The Savage was my first nitro rc and it was VERY easy. I didn't have any problems. Tuning it was a little tricky at first, but after a couple runs it is pretty easy to tune. One must-have item for it is an onboard temp guage or a temp gun like http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXVZ29&P=7 . I kept over heating my savage until i got my temp guage.

SavageMan they are coming out with a .25 rtr version, but maybe MaxxCrazy would like a kit, if you want a kit the by all means get the ss. It will be my first .25 (3rd altogether) but my second nitro had some wack needle settings and horrid instructions so I ended up toasting it in less than a QUART :rolleyes:. I'm getting the ss also, I just wanst to be shiped and not on back order anymore.
