I'm planning to add a few more coats to patch up the spots on my bashing aged body where the paint has chipped off down to the clear lexan. Oh how we hate those transparent spots. But first I want to clean and prepare the surfaces. The nitro tends to get oil residue everywhere which has attracted dirt for some time now.

So what do you guys use to clean the inside of your bodies w/o attacking the paint? I know it sounds weird because I'm adding paint anyway if some of the old paint gets removed in the cleaning process but I like to know I'm doing at least a clean job. So what have you guys found to work safely? Simple Green? Windex? Anything??

I would just use soap and warm water, and a light grit sand paper around where the paint has chipped.

for guys who crash allot (IMHO, nitro guys enjoy crashing at high speeds)

I scuff the inside of the body lightly with a brillo pad.

I dont do this on most bodies as it can spoil the paint finish a bit, but if I know somebody is a wanabee stunt driver then ill try my best ot keep the paint on.
