What is the charger of choice in "microflight"?
I have an Astro 112D butit is limited in the small battery range. What are you guys using? What do you recommend?
TIA,
Alan

Alan,
A set of really good chargers for small(50-100mAh)batteries is a line made by Bob Selman. He also makes Lithium chargers as well as tiny ESC's.

I'd go for a "real" computerized charger, although there's no model specialised for microflight. I'm using a Schulze isl6-430 and a Robbe PowerPeak Infinity 2. Both give good results even on 50mAh packs. I'd recommend the Robbe.

I just ordered a Simprop "Battery Manager" Charger from Hobby Lobby. They claim it'll peak charge 1 to 25 cells at rates from 0.1 to 5 Amps. At a cost hardly more than an Astro 110, I figured what the heck. Just hope it performs as advertised...
**Update**
I recently received the Simprop charger and must say, I'm really impressed. The menus are a little awkward at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's a piece of cake. You can store 10 different battery pack settings and, in addition, it has a full auto mode in which it checks the pack once each minute and adjusts the charging accordingly. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a cigarette plug thing (only alligator clips) but I'll likely remedy that myself.

A lot of the chargers mentioned in the reply's are good, but most don't charge at rates below 100mah, so slow charging batteries in the 50 to 100 mah capacity range is not possible. I found an oddball charger kit in a radio shack catalog. You have to set the number of cells (1 to 8)and the desired charge rate (15 to 750)mah. You also tell the chaarger whether this is a slow or fast charge (52min, or 14 hours). Once the battery is connected and the button is pushed, the battery is discharged, and charged automatically. Upon completion it shuts off.
If you use a range of different batteries and like to have control over the charging process take a look at this kit. Go to:
Delux universal charger kit (http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=&product%5Fid=990%2D0184)
It took me about 1-1/2 hours to build the kit.
