Hi,
me I my friends here in Norway are gona start a rc club and build a 1:10 touring track. We have made a temporary track at an old parkinglot, but during the winther and spring we are gona build a new permanent track. We race both 1:10 electro and nitro 200mm touring cars.
I have a few questions about the recomended track size. Have been serching both ifmar and efra about track limits but with no luck. If someone know where to find such regulatios can you give me a hint.
If not; what do you recomend of dimensions on the track: lap lenght, track with, with on the straights and lenght on the straight?

Frode:-)

Well the width should be about 8 ft wide and you can make it smaller on some parts for passing issues.

Here is NORRCA:
http://www.norrca.com/rules.html

Here is ROAR:
http://www.roarracing.com/rules/index.htm

Here are some IFMAR rules:
http://www.nitrobuggies.com/rules.htm

I hope that that helps u with ur track mine is just a bashing site rite now so I am really working hard on it so I can have racers over to race!!

Thanx,
isn't 8 ft (2,4m) narrow?
I have just experience with 1:10 electro buggy tracks, but we have found 10 ft (3m) to work fine there.
Checked the links you attached, but couldn't find any regulations about track specifications, expect safety matters. Ifmar, Roar, Norrca and Efra has lots of rules about the cars dimensions, pwr and weight but nothing about track layouts and track dimensions.
Most international tracks I have found on the web are made for both 1:10, 1:8 and 1:5 cars. Lap lenghts on 300-400m, average with on 4-5,5m and straight lenght on 70-90m.

Does someone know of any specific rules for 1:10 touring tracks?

I don't think you read the entire ROAR rules. If you make it all the way to the very last 10 or 12 pages you see 'class specific rules', which include minimum track widths. Page 57 of the ROAR rules is for .12 touring cars, and it says the minimum track width is 10 feet, but I think that 15 foot wide is a better minimum, and 20 foot wide on the straight is nice.

There are also minimum track widths printed for the other classes of cars. Good luck with your track.
