Well today was my first time using a starter box and well it was pretty bad. I have a TC3 with an OS .12 engine with a Associated Starter Box (NEW) I tried the stick batteries and the car battery both times while trying to start it the motor from the Starter Box started smoking. I was not holding the car on it using continious pressure jsut pumping onto the box and it just started smoking.

Is there a better starter Box out there or am I just using it wrong?

The stick batteries were 3000 from my E-Maxx and then I also tried a normal 12V car battery nothign but smoke, but I did finally get it started the car that is. Now the Starter Box won't even work I think the motor is fried.

Any advise would be appreciated

Thanks
in Advance

you probably fried the motor.. my guess is that the flywheel and the starter wheel werent lined up properly.

So you never had any pressure on it?

The most common mistake is to forget the insulating washers where the posts come out, if you do that and turn it on the box acts as a conductor to short out the system. Get a voltmeter on it and check it all out, you have a short somewhere.
