Scale Gun Boat

A buddy of mine wants to get BB cannons from Swampworks & mount them into a boat. He doesn't want to battle, so he's not looking for a Swampworks style ship made out of balsa.

I told him that it's too bad Lindberg doesn't make that PT Boat anymore, that would be perfect. I know you can get one from eBay, but they'er pricey now. Also, that Blue Devil destroyer wouldn't be wave-worthy as he wants it to run on his lake with regular-sized waves & such. Anyone have any ideas on a good, low-maintenence (sp?), preferable plastic hull to use? You think a Pibber style boat would be cool to use?

Any ideas would be great.

What about the Dumas 48 inch fiberglass hulled PT Boat kit. If I remember right, there's another company called Howard's? that sells detail kits for the model. If he rally wants to do this, he could mount the gun on the bow where the 37mm gun was located. :)
