i have the same equipment. I have gone to 5 cells at six volts which works fine until i get a voltage booster built.
i really wish the sky hooks reciever had an adjustment for the minimum voltage cutoff.

I'm currently working on a small (2 ounce or less) model and am unsure about receiver/motor/battery combinations. It'll use 2 WES-Tech 2.4 gram servos and a Sky Hooks Hybrid receiver. I had been planning on using a KP-00 for power, but this is presenting a problem. With a maximum of 4 volts, the KP-00 would seem to be mismatched with the SHR receiver, which cuts power to the motor when voltage drops below 5.3 volts.

Am I missing something here? I've seen a number of models which use the KP-00, 2.4 gram servos and various receivers, all on 3 cells. Are these planes running in a constant state of low voltage?

I want to avoid going to a larger motor, which would require a larger battery pack and make a 2 ounce plane impossible. Any advice would be appreciated.
