Hey

Im having a huge problem with my airbrush. Its a badger 150. It seems that its spraying the amount of paint or wit hthe amount of pressure it should. i tried adjsuting everything. the only out come is the paint bubbles in the jar or cup thing. I thought it was my compressor (badger 180-11) but i hooked up my single action plastic thing that igot for like $10 nad that painted fine.

Ive cleaned out the airbrush. i tried cahging the needle and the head. Im totally stumped.

Should i crank on my 20 gallon 5hp and try to blow out what ever it might be?

Thanks for your help

those bubbles are caused by a clog somewhere between the cup and the fluid tip. I had the same problem and what worked for me was to take the fluid tip, needle and everything else and give it a good cleaning with lacquer thinner and then sprayed a cup of thinner through it while back flushing it. (cover the tip and let go while spraying the thinner)
it worked for me, I don't know if it will for you.

trying to help

If its bubbling in the colour cup then it sounds like you have your paint too thick, add a little more thinners and try again.

Careful with the thinners some airbrush o-rings deterreorate. My friend traded me a couple of badgers, because he wanted to spray base coat for real cars ,when he would use thinner or reducer to clean them they would lose the o-ring seals.

In regards to o-rings going bad, Coast Airbrush sell a teflon o-ring guaranteed not to fall apart like rubber ones because of solvents. I've had one in my Iwata for a little over a year and have sprayed everything from water-based to urethane without a problem. I think they go for around $15.00

I got the craftsman 2 hp air compressor from sears and i want to airbrush with it. What is a good kit that will work well with painting lexan bodies? SHould i get one with multiple heads or i don't know i'm lost. I need to know a good brand and i think i need one of those moisture trapper things if it will fit my compressor. http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=TOOL&pid=00915235000 Here is a link to the compressor and here is a picture. Thanks for your help.
