has anybody ever tried to fiberglass a body to make it stronger or is there another secret.......

You don't want a rigid, 'strong' body:
1 - They would be too heavy. The whole cars weigh less than 4 pounds total, and a fiberglass body would weigh a lot more than a Lexan one.
2 - You want the body to flex like Lexan does or it will break too easily. The cars crash so much the body would be destoryed after one run.
3 - A fiberglass body would cost too much to make and sell. You can buy a Lexan body for about $20, and they are fairly easy to manufacture which keeps the price low.

Tamiya made most of their bodies in ABS plastic for years. Awesome detail, basically they were big static models, but they bodies were heavy and not as durable as Lexan. Now only a few hard-plastic bodies are left, and they are mostly left over from years ago.

i dont want to race my body but more thinking about fiberglassing my current lexan to keep it on the shelf like they are called "concourse bodies" just so i can race my lexan but have a nice one not cracked and torn.....but. i dont know how hard that would be or if it would turn out good or not....thanks
