I recently got back into R/C and I purchased a T-maxx since it seemed like a fairly safe choice. I'm kind of regretting it now, though, and am looking at maybe buying an X-Factor. Anyone have any experience with these, and if so, how does the performance compare to the T-maxx? I would expect it probably doesn't handle at high speeds as well, but is probably more torquey. I was under the impression the T-maxx could wheelie stock, but so far the only way I've gotten it to do it is by hitting a little bump or something. It seems to bog down at low speeds sometimes, and I've tried messing with the needle settings quite a bit. It's punchy, but it just won't quite wheelie. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for the help.

The Tmaxx will wheelie under the right conditions ( traction). Sounds like you truck is running too lean? You should not have to move the needles much at all, especially if the truck was running good. Cut out the windows in the body ( more airflow), make sure your air filter is clean and lubed, back out the needles and start over again, invest in a good quality temp gun.

how much fuel have u put through the motor? my 2.5 just seemed to get faster the more fuel i ran through it.

if ya go with a BIG monster... go with a Mad Force!! very tough, and dependable after u do a couple cheap mods!

I have owned a Mad Force several maxxes 2.5 included and the X-factor. The x-factor is best when used for rock crawling when you replace the cantilever pins with short shocks. It is very torquey and it wheelies too easily and when turning it is kind of high centered. The Mad Force is a speed demon with funky steering linkages. as far as wheelies with your t-maxx traction and a properly tuned engine will lift it.

I'm thinking that I may be more interested in a truck like the X-factor that is perhaps a bit slower but more torquey and more suited to just messing around at slower speeds. The X-factor appears to be a more well thought-out and durable design than the Mad Force to me, and not to mention it is the same price as the Mad Force but comes with a more powerful engine. I'm pretty sure the GS-21 is quite a bit down on power compared to the 24-7. As far as the T-maxx goes, I've run about 1/2 a gallon through it. Whenever it starts to get close to making enough power to wheelie it gets fairly hot and likes to stall. Then it won't start again for awhile. I don't have a temp gun, but it seems hot when this happens and I'm guessing I'm running it too lean. Any thoughts?

The X Factor was rated at 35 mph. I own one and it is the best climber and rock crawler I have ever had. It has a ton of torque so if you buy one go ahead and purchase the wheelie bar. Your going to need it. Lock tight everything before you run it. If you want go ahead and buy a larger head too, the stock will stay around 275 to 290 on a warm day and thats a little to hot for me. I bought the new big head from xtm and it keeps it at 220 all day. The only bad thing I will say about this truck is you have to do either savage 14mm or ofna 17mm axle swaps to change the wheels and tires to the cool aftermarket products. If you decide to buy one you will never get rid of it ( very unique).
