what are you trying to fit in it? I have a 5 cell rx pack, two servos, rx, and a faisafe in mine. The servos are in the normal throttle and steering postiions, 5 cell pack is in front of the servos, rx is on top of the plate that goes inside and the failsafe is mounted on the bottom of the plate. The hardest thing is getting all the wire in. If you are patient and bundle the wires neatly is is pretty easy. I'll try to post a pict later.

yes there are a couple tricks,
first move your rx away from the switch about 2/3 in
then drill a 1/4-1/3 in hole in between the switch and rx
run all of your wires to and from the switch and rx through the hole, there should be empty space below where you drilled.
the reason I was having trouble closing mine was that the wires going over the edge of the rx mounting piece were kinking against the side of the cover. Mabey this is your prob

No problem
I have my savage apart (not completely) because I have suddenly had a urge to upgrade. Im putting in a picco 26, new steering servo/servo saver, hd bones, new clutch and lots of fun stuff.
I was just tinkering with it and I noticed that the sevo wires were all bent up, so out came the drill and now it closes really easily.
