Ok first off, how do they compare to T-maxx's in racing ability. 2nd Will the T-maxx Tires, such as proline bowties and velocity rims, fit on the hex's. What about bodies, do they fit??
I have a .24 t-maxx ( it rocks) should i keep the maxx to race or would i be better off bying the Dominator.
Thanks for your help.

I know for a fact the dom. is a better racer. Unless if you want to spend $3,000 on a maxx to be a really durable and a low profile chassis. The tires will work, but the velocities wont because the dom uses 17 mm wheel hexes and the maxx uses sonething smaller like a 8 mm wheel hex. Also, you can put just about any .21 engines in it and you won't have to upgrade anything. I think the t-maxx bodies fit but don't quote me on it.

Ok thanks alot, so like is the dominator a truggy (buggy converted to truck)
oh and could i put a .24 or a .26 in it. I guess what im asking is, is will the drive train ( Diff, dog, bones) hold up to the High Horsepower engines.

OK I just wan to know what makes the Dominator better. I mean what does it have that others dont have. Oh and also, it might be a hard question to anwser, is the turning radius better than that of an other Monster Truck. Thanks for your time

Ya. The drivetrain is very strong. You can drop in a RB C5 Rody and it will be fine. The drivetrain is as durable a buggy. Yes. The dom is like a buggy with mt tires and rims. It has very good diffs that are bulitproof if shimed correctly, It handles better because it has a low center of gravity, I'm not sure on the turing radius though. You can also get proline bulkheads for the dom and put t-maxx suspension on it. That will make it like almost 4 more inches in width.

Wow your rich, that will cost alot more than my Nikko. Do you think I will still be able to keep up with you in a race. I just bought a new 9.6 battery for 16.00 and with my selector lever set on high It flys and with it set on low I can run over pencils and stuff. What do you think?:D

WS7, buy a Pirate MT sport for $299 instead, sell the engine, rims and tires, radio, and the center solid axle on ebay and you will be miles ahead money wise instead of paying full retail for a dom.

Also, didn't they make a parcial dom that was on stormerhobbies?
A .21 T-Maxx can't compare to a Dom. Like I said in the other thread, it is the best out there for racing. I am going to the track in about an hour to race mine.
Bodies? Any T-Maxx body will fit, even the extended ones if you can get your hands on an extended chassis.
Wheels and tires? I use MT3's, which have been good to me, but can be weak. IMEX makes some good nylon tires for the 17mm rims, but you can also buy the SSRC T-Maxx adaptors that let you run T-Maxx rims. I just got mine and will test them today with my RPM Titans.
Also, I run a WS7 and it is uncontrollably fast! I have a small vid of mine. It requires the DIVX codec, so I supplied the link to that too.
Divx codec (right click, save as, this is the spy-ware free version) - http://download.divx.com/divx/DivX51Bundle.exe

Best out there for racing compared to what? What about a Mugen conversion from JT racing? It sill smoke the dated chassis of the dominator.

That's not stock. Outdated? The Dominator was just updated a little while back. THEY JUST CAME OUT WITH THE MBX5!!!
Hello? Earth to muswagon - the MBX4 is the predecessor to the MBX5!!!
Not to mention that you would have to buy the MBX4 used and then buy the expensive JT kit. All that would cost around $450, with no engine or anything. A new Dom is around the same price RTR!
Also, if you want to buy something RTR with some power, I am selling my Dom with WS7 and XR2 for $420 shipped. :D

GTX, the doms chassis is very old, the original Pirate buggy well outdates the MBX4. The MBX4 truck cleaned up at the last nitro challenge.
Buying a MBX4 is cheap, I bought a rolling chassis for $150. Then $130 for the JT.
Besides, I dont remember price being an issue in this thread.
You are being an azzzz with comments like earth to Muswagon. Bottom line is you dont have a clue what you are talking about, discussion over.
Discussion isn't over until I say it's over. What's the matter? Are you afraid of my comments?
I bet you don't remember when a stock Dom took first place against some $4K supermaxxes do you? That's the real challenge.
The Mugen truggy is not newer. The conversion just came out, but the Dom was updated after the Mugen MBX4.
If you can't hack my comments, don't read them. If I didn't have a clue, I wouldn't know how to shim the diffs or modify a stock dom with $50 to make it bomb-proof.
The price on Mugen MBX4's vary. Mugen isn't making them anymore, so you can't even buy them new unless you are lucky to find one on ebay.
Must I also mention you can buy a Dominator used? If you buy a new MBX4 with a new JT kit, then the cost comes out more. COST IS ALWAYS AN ISSUE!
For the money you pay for the JT kit, you might as well buy a used Dom and make a Hybrid.
Sorry if you got offended by the statement, but you were also complimenting the Monster Pirate/Dom/MT Sport line.
He also said STOCK - NO CONVERSIONS! The MBX4 truck is a Hybrid. It takes parts off the Dominator to run it! Every truggy must use the Ofna 62-65T spur gears to run at a correct gear ratio.
One more thing - just because a chassis is old doesn't make it weak or slow. The T-Maxx chassis was updated, does that make it the same slow chassis? IT'S A FRIGGIN CHASSIS!!!!

Lol i thought you where sending me to a r/c website.
WS7
with all the stuff you're looking at getting i hope your racing drake or somebody that races r/c cars for a living cause otherwise you wont need all that. a plane old proline dom with rpm arms will do fine, wont break you'll be able to run maxx tires wheels and it will be a track "Dominator".
GTX i just want you to know over the last few days you've become my OFNA hero, i didn't think anyone ran these things besides me (on my 6th MP/DOM keep selling and buying new ones)

a MP and a dominator is two completly differnt vehicles in a lot of ways so please dont compare them.....if you really want to know what to do then ask me or pm me and ill tell you what is the cheapest best way to do so or ill even tell you what you need to make the ultimante one as i use to have a awesome dominator myself that kicked AZZ..

what are you talking about? I have both, besides the tires, front tower brace, front shocks, slipper and a spur gear that is a few teeth bigger. What makes them completely different vehicles? You must be referring to their purpose, one being setup for racing and one for bashing.

if you compare the later mp's, and now the pirate MT sport, the only difference now is the center slipper and the rims and tires.

not only those parts but you forgot the front shock tower the thicker bracing and also the rims...basically your right as far as one is for racing and the other is for bashing..but if you buy the MP and then upgrade to a dominator it gets expensive.....if he is going to race it most of the time and then bash once in a while then i would build it from the ground up so its perfect...when i had mine it was like my emaxx i have now i replaced almost everything on it that was stock and then thought to myself why did i buy the kit in the first place?basically if your going to race get the dominator if bashing then get the mp both good vehicles and as for the mp sport i cant say anything cause i havent kept up with them in the past to what it is completly...

how about keeping youre maxx's suspension and engine and buying a JT hybrid chassis and dominator center slipper, tank, and 9.5 RX box from ebay. It would be cheaper if you bought the stuff through e-bay. that is how I just built my JT Hybrid. doing the JT Hybrid conversion new could cost quite a bit more.
