First off, I just want to say that I welcome all suggestions and opinions, and my decisions are based in part by real-time racers and bashers, not ads in a mag.

My question is, I have decided to get a Savage SS and am wondering what kind of radio to match up with it? I have not decided if i will incorporate the reverse mechanism or not, but will probably need a three channel unit. Ihave been out of r/c-ing for quite some time as my last car i had was a losi jrx2. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have the MX-3 in mine with Hitec servos and a hump pack and I'm happy with it. Now if they would drop the price of receivers it would be perfect.

Airtronics M8.
Airtronics MX-3 ($110; No servos).
JR XS3 (No crystals, Around $200?).
JR X?? (The one with crystals).

I have an old Futaba 2PBKA radio from my racing days of yesteryear, and am wondering if it will work okay in the savage...(hopefully the rx will fit in the radio box)

The XR3i which would be one of my first picks. They come with pretty good servos and not a bad deal for the price.

The Airtronics MX-3 I like as well. You get to have your own option of servos which would be good for you becuase the savage could use a high torque servo for steering...

Most 3 channel radios will work well with your truck. If anything try to get them without servos so you get to chose your own.
