Joerg Mrkwitschka of Germany just broke the nitro top speed record of 120.5 with an Electric Boat! He ran a one way pass of 122 plus mph and a backup run of 119mph to set the NEW world record to 120.7mph average!

Oh, come on. Our TOY electric boats have been taking a verbal beating by the nitro guys for years!

Let's be honest...it was bound to happen sooner or later.

But...I would like to see this happen with the same pack on one charge.;)

Us nitro guys could pull this kind of thing off on one tank and still have some left for another run.:D

I'm almost 100% sure he made both runs on the same pack. I think thats in the rules.

I am not all that sure, but I think that Andy Brown had a couple of runs at 124mph.

He has a run of 125, but I don't think he has two back to back runs.

Hey...in that case then I have to stand up and aplaud that boat.

120+mph in 2 runs on ONE pack is definitely a feat to be proud of.

As much as I love the nitro, it's getting harder to find places to run them and as technology improves and changes, it'll all end up electric anyway.

You guys are the pioneers of the future of the hobby.

That doesn't mean that we nitro guys can't try to prove you wrong though.;) ;) ;)

This should make quite a rivalry for the future!

that's incredible! now if they'd come out with cheaper batteries, brushless motors, and speed controls. i figure that battery pack costs about $250. here's the video-

electric record 2-way run (http://www.******.net/view_singl...edid=17788)

Yes, it's all done on one battery charge. The boat has to make back-to back runs without being brought back to shore.

I shot the video. The reason there is a break in it is becauze the driver made a one way pass, then walked to the other side of the lake while his boat sat in the water so he could run in the opposite direction.

electric or nitro that kind of speed is incredible. I for one applaude any and all who can do that.
