There should be a new offroad and dirt oval track opening up in Middletown Pennsylvania by late Jan 2004. Here is the link for more info http://68.83.27.227/
You can run gas or electric, oval, off-road trucks, buggies or stadium trucks. :D

Hi, I talked to Chris alittle bit about the new track going in. I'm looking forward to going there and racing. It should be a nice track and a great place to race and have fun. It's almost to good to be true but it is going to happen. I can't wait till the doors open. I plan on helping Chris with what I can.

I just wanted to give you all an update.

I spent last week Clearing and Grading the Land. I was still installing Silt Fence until Saturday night at about 11:00 PM - trying to beat the snow.

The building is being delivered Dec 29th and My contractor is telling me he should have it done in about 4 weeks. I should be racing sometime in February. I will keep you all posted on the progress, and I will probably update the website with pictures as construction progress's

I just wanted to let you all know what is going on

I hit many obstacles that took a long time to get worked out, and I didn't expect to be building in the winter months.
I really thought we would be done and racing by now.
I expect the building to be completed in February - but the exact date is unknown.
The building is being delivered on Monday December 29th. My contractor should have the concrete piers, footers and poured walls in place by mid January.
Once these are done he will go do other work as I have had to postpone him 3 times now, and he has other commitments that he must do.
However once he has left I have a lot of work to do.
I will begin by trenching the sewer and gas lines to the building and then will begin interior plumbing that will run under the floor.
Hopefully as this is going on I will also have the race track going in, thanks to some volunteered help.
It will not be warm as we will be working outside in the cold but if any of you would like to donate time I have plenty of stuff to do.
My contractor will then return in February to erect the steel - which should take 2 to 3 weeks.
I will really be under the gun during this time as I will need to get the light's up and conduit run as well as the gas pipe and restrooms installed.

I must be honest about one very serious concern and that is that when I get the doors open I don't have enough people to pay the mortgage.
I am asking you all for your help to tell everyone you know about the place and what is going on.
I know the racing community is pretty small, but there are still many people that have never heard of Bumps and Jumps.
Thanks you all for your help in spreading the word.

Also I really appreciate everyone's input and support to this point.
I have received some great ideas from people about things to try and I will definitely try some of them.

I have a picture up on the web page showing the land and you can see it is already cleared.

I can't figure out how to get front page to work properly so some of my updates might take some time to get posted, but I will do my best.

If you are not on my email list please send me an email so I can keep you updated on the progress

Thanks and Happy New Year
Chris

I added some new pictures on the progress.

Unfortunately with the cold temps my contractor wont finish the footers till next week. The building inspector is a pain and if there is any frost on the dirt he won't let us pour concrete, so I guess better safe then sorry.

Hey Chris. I was thinking of either racing a Assosiated B4 or Monster GT. Still thinking about it.

What do you currently have? If you already have electric stuff - batteries, charger etc. I would probably go with a B4. Competition should be tuff in the buggy class. I have yet to see a monster GT.

I finished the poured walls today. I need some warm weather to backfill, but I hope to start steel sometime late next week or beginning of Feb.

Actually, I have a Tamiya TXT-1, never built, and a Tamiya TA-03, I plan to sell both of them. I would like to get the BTF, but now looking into getting a Savage for the monster truck class to run with the T-Maxxes.
The building looks great so far. Will you build the track before you finish the building?

Hi Noor
I am undecided if I should bring the clay in before the building is up.
I had planned on it, but when we back filled the foundation the ground was to frozen to scrape any of the dirt from the track area.
I want at least a 12" clay base to allow for elevation changes.
The ground is sitting a little high right now, So I will probably wait until the building is up so I can thaw out the ground so I can get it outside the building.
Most of it depends on the weather.
I need a couple of days of 50 degree's and rain.

I think that would be better since the ground will be frozen for quit a while it seems like. Can you level the ground from inside then? Is the clay for the track in the ground there? Or will you have to have it shipped in?
I think I am going to get a Savage and run in the nitro monster truck class.

The clay will have to be trucked in. The exchavators can't get to it right now. It is to frozen. Hope for warm weather! The Savage is a good truck. There should be a big class of monsters.

Oh believe me I am hoping for really warm weather. Hopefully that it will get warmer by late march, early april. I have thought about what I will run, and I will just hook up my TXT-1 with a racing chassis and e-maxx tranny. I may get a B-4 or a Yok MR4-BC special to run in the buggy class, but since I already have a truck, I will start out with that. Another idea I had also, was maybe when things take off, you could maybe run parking lot races on a road course set up in the parking lot. :D

Also it is easier for me to update the web site instead of trying to email everyone updates, comcast only lets me mail 15 people at a time, anyone know a way around this?
keep an eye on it I will update it every week.

You mean you can't e-mail more than 15 people? Did you try to just put everyones e-mail address in the "to" field of the e-mail header?
