My buddy Mike has, for the last year or so, been building a homemade Miss Budweiser replica RC boat. We've set up a site devoted to it at www.helpmikesboat.com. it's come a long ways, even since we set up the site, and we should be posting some updates soon. Anyways, we have a bunch of pics and specs and stuff online already and are interested in feedback about the project. Personally, I think it's awesome and can't wait for Mike to finish it.

I first want to say that it is a excellent looking boat and I am sure he spend countless hours working on it......BUT in this day and age, I know there are ALOT better things donate money then some guy building a rc boat. (ASPCA, Fire Fighters Fund, Police Fund, Veterans fund, Cancer Research, ect. Those are worth giving donations to) How many of us would not like to have some sort of outside funding, but this is the first time on here I have heard of anyone asking for donation for their hobby. Thats almost as bad as the girls website asking for donations to get her out of credit card debt. If this boat is as great as it looks and he is a good driver.....go win some national races and get some sponsorship.
Just my 2 cents!!!!!!

I completely understand your position. All I'm going to say in response is that I created the site for two reasons, the primary one being to create a venue to show off an impressive piece of work. I posted here because I thought others in a place like this might like to see it too. Besides a passing comment in the intro section asking people to check out our help page the only place we mention donating is on the help page itself, which is the last page on the site. You mischaracterize my post when you say that I'm here asking for donations, but I'm glad you enjoyed seeing the boat :). I hope others will enjoy the site, and the boat, as well.

Nice boat indeed.

However, that little help button kinda caught me off guard.

Hey flyerCAN, can we hook that up on our website? Hell, I could use a new Quick Draw 35 :p

I kinda feel insulted.

Well, the engine is kinda the last thing with this boat. It's a custom built boat, not a kit. Mike has been looking at different options. At this time we've got a weed whacker engine as the powerplant. That'll be the starting point until we see the boat in action. Then we'll look at upgrades like the engines we've talked about at helpmikesboat.com. You might want to send E-mail to Mike (Mike@helpmikesboat.com) if you have specific questions about the boat or it's engine. Thanks for checking out the site. The boat is awesome and I'm glad people are taking a look :).

I'll have to say that I've been reluctant to post due to the nature of this. ;)

Here's one I saw this past summer. Don't know the exact scale of it, but it was a 'guesstimated' 6-7 ft long & had a 35cc in it.

Don't laugh about the long exhaust. Its the law around here to be QUIET.
