View Full Version : wobbling?
finally got my boat up and running this weekend. 1 question. when the boat is running full throttle the stern starts to wobble back and forth in the water slightly. it was a very still day with no chop. I was wondering what may cause this? is the rudder flexing or something? it is a plastic or composite rudder. actually the rubber is slightly crooked. it is not exactly 90 degrees to the stern, maybe 85-88 degrees. could this be the reason?

Hey Dag,
Check out www.shark-racing.com they have an awsome technical section. I think what your describing is chine walk but not 100%
go to that site and you should be able to get answers.

Loose rudder linkage might be the problem but I've got to agree with Lovinnitro. I had an Aeromarine Titan 21 that had a chine walking problem. The boat was fast but almost impossible to drive at speed because of the rocking. I rode in a Nitro Bass boat years ago that had the same problem. It's scary riding in a boat doing that at 70 MPH! Another site with info on this is at http://rcboat.com/past.htm The strut will probably have to be raised to cure the problem.
