what exactly is the difference between 2 blade and 3 blade props. Also does anyone know a good prop for the aquacraft nitro hammer. it has a plastic 2 blade prop, that i would like to replace w/ a stainless or some type of metal prop. i just want to avoid any decreases in performance.

A 3 blade hooks up faster than a 2 blade.
A 3 blade has faster accelaration than a 2 blade.
A 3 blade loads the engine more than a 2 blade.
A 3 blade makes a good oval prop because it hooks up quicker coming out of the turns. A 2 blade makes a good straight away prop because it alows the engine to build rpm.

does anyone know a good prop for the nitro hammer? The instructions recommended that the one it came with as the best. It seems a little too small. i think i'll stick w/ a 2 blade prop for the straight away speed, but I am hoping to get more out of the boat.

Understand that I'm comparing a stock 2-blade to a stock 3-blade of equal size and pitch ie. X457 to a X457/3. You could easily mod an equal size 3-blade to out perform it's 2-blade counterpart on the straight away and viseversa.
The good thing about most plastic and aluminum props is you don't have to balance them and they are usualy inexpensive.
The bad thing is that they are prone to damage because they are so soft.

For a few $'s to try out, its not a waist of money. If you don't like the way it performs you can always advertise it and folks will scoop them up.
