i just bought a nitro hammer, and I havent ran it yet. I was wondering if anyone has done some performance mods to the nitro hammer.because i am thinking i will need a little more performance. Is it kinda what you buy is what you get? thank you

Not really sure about engine mods. Does it already have a tuned pipe? if not that will help. and experiment with props, they can do a bit for you as well. can't tell you tho what would be the best prop for that, sorry

You can swap out the prop for a better one and maybe shorten the rudder a little for more cheap speed. A 1" hole over the carb is supposed to help also. They do run half-way decent for a RTR boat. A lot would depend on how much money that you'd want to put into it. A hotter motor, surface drive, different pipes and higher nitro are options.

The rudder is very easy to break apart.
Replace with lifting/retractable rudder to reduces the chance of damage from submerged obstacles.
