I have a txt-1 with the stock motors and a super rooster speed control. the gearing is also stock. At full throttle i can power walk(walk really fast) faster than it. is this normal????
also would the emaxx titan 550 motors fit in the txt-1 with no modifications and would the super rooster handle them?

It might be a little slow. I have almost the same setup as you and mine isn't very fast either but probably faster than I can "power walk." The truck isn't really designed to break any speed records. It's made to go over anything. If you want it faster get some larger pinions.
The Titan motors will fit but they are designed to run off 14.4 volts, I don't think the SR can handle 12 cells.

No, but it can handle 10. Argh Argh!!
:)
Like newracer said, the TXT is not a speed demon by any means. It can go over most anything, just not very quickly. If you go to bigger pinions, it'll go faster, but you'll lose low-end torque. The motors may overheat as well.

i bought it for rock crawling but i want a bit more speed to. it should be ok to put 2 modified motors in it as long as it is the 2 same motors, right?

Go check out the TXT-1 thread in the Tamiya manufacturers forum, lots of info in there. There's 3 threads all together.
Kyosho's Magnetic Mayhems seem to be a popular choice. 22x1 motor, longer can for greater torque.

If you want crawling torque and power but still want a little more speed then like what was suggested the MM's are good motors and shouldn't really cut into your runtimes either which is a good thing.
As for the titans they don't run very well on anything bellow the 14.4 volts that the EVX runs at. In a comparison the MM's ran better at 7.2v then the titans did.

you can get a emaxx tranny conversion, that will give you two speeds, one for crawling and one for speed

with the magnetic mayhem motors do i need one in reverse or just both of them normal?

Both normal rotation. If you had a clod then you would need the reverse rotation one.
