I forgot to mention. Auction ends in 1 hr. Current bid i $70. What's this thing worth if it is a good choice?

A little more information would be good. What brand, AM, FM, or one of the computer radios? How many channels, what frequency ranges? Trying to judge by price alone is a crapshoot at best.
Personally, I've used Futaba almost exclusively for the past several years. They seem to be quite reliable. The worst radio I ever had was a Kraft set from way back in the days when we used the 72Mhz frequencies. Some folks swore by these radios, I swore at mine because on a good day it was unpredictable.

I've used both Futaba & Airtronics with great results. The only radio I ever hated was the Lynx. Every time I put the Lynx in my kit, the trim knobs rotated against the sides of the pocket & I had to retrim every time I used it.

Spend the money & get a quality radio (not to say that you aren't).
I could sleep well at night knowing I had any of the major brands controling my model....

Get a good failsafe to go along with it also.
