I was wondering if any one made a chasis duno for nitro cars / trucks? i see in the articles that they use a engine dyno. If no one makes a chasiss dyno where could i buy a engine dyno?

The only gas engine dyno I ever seen was made by Holeshot Racing. The only company ever to make a chassis dyno was the Thor Chassis dyno for electric cars. The other method is to use a Tachometer, measure the rpm range then convert using transmission ratio, tire diameter and gearing to get a relative MPH range.

There are very few r/c dynos made, and if they were sold to the public theyd be extremely expensive. I say read RC Nitro becasue I know they have dyno results/hp numbers.

thats same thing that SteveP said, dynos are very very expensive, and youll save more by reading RCN, and i believe you wont be able to get too many engines throught that dyno

We have a chassis dyno that works for nitro or electric cars. See pictures on our website at http://www.cybermetrix.com/USGS/usgs_page.htm#car.
Our company is in the business of building much larger test systems but we have guys in the company who are r/c enthusiasts and we built one. If we go into production it will probably sell for $2500-$3000 and you would need supply your own PC. Would that be of interest to anyone?

thats a fairly good price for a dyno... (hoping its extremely accurate and sets a standard)
if you look at fullsize car dyno's those are expensive...
i can see hobbyshops/pro racers buying a dyno like that...
hobbyshops can be like real cars and charge so much for # of pulls or tuning time i.e. 1 hour

yea some serious ( and i mean SERIOUS racer) would surely invest in this, it would give them most accurate tuning device, not smoke, not temp, but all that combined and what is mostly important it would give them power reading of each change in mix
