This is an excellent beginers boat that i would highly recomend. It has fairly nice sails and can be purchased for around $150 with radio. Did I mention it is 4 feet tall!! The hull is made of ABS plastic so it would be good if you have some basic modeling skills.
Leakage isn't a terrible problem, few drops here and there. Do make sure that you get rid of the water after a run or it will short out your batteries ( personal experience). The only other problem I have had with it is that the Jib (front sail for you land lovers) frequently gets caught on the spreaders (part on mast). I am sure that this problem can be fixed, I just haven't tried yet on account of my being lazy.
It offers excellent handling. It does have some trouble in winds above 15 mph but thats understandable. As with all sail boats, make sure that you have some understanding of the lake bottom or you might have to go a swimming (again, personal experience).
Have Fun!!
