Hi
I cant choose between these vehicles as i have not much knowledge about them. I bascially just want a "fun car", not much maintenance, but im pretty sure these ones require little.
Tamiya Wild Willy 2
Tamiya Twin Detonator
Tamiya Wild Dagger
I am not 100% sure but the Twin Detonator and the Wild Dagger are the same chassis with different body styles? The surfaces i will be running in are grass, sand, dirt, street, maybe mud. And one more question is does the WW2 have same suspension travel as the other 2 trucks.
Thank you
Jackson

I have a wild dagger and love it I took out the front motor and tranny gears and am running rwd team orion havok 19x2 and a duratrax streak esc no traction in the snow with rwd but when it gets traction its pretty damn quick........oh and I also got a 21 tooth pinion gear for it......... I've had it for a long while (and got it used) and all that has broke was the front knuckles which was an easy fix with new parts and the rear shock tower broke on one side the other day and I just drilled 2 new holes and put the shocks back on simple simple anyways I love this thing but I wouldn't mind a savage ss :p

I have a wild dagger to and have had a lot of fun with it. The dagger was discontinued but then tamiya brout it back as the twin detonater just gussied up a bit. The wild willy is really more of like a stunt and wheelie truck while the wild dagger is more like an off road touring car. Personaly i would go with the wild dagger.

Thanks NeoGeo and krisI.925
NeoGeo,
In that picture, are the tires stock? I have read somewhere that Tmaxx wheels are compatible with it. And are Tmaxx bodies compatible too? Thank you.

All good fun vehicles !
See the WW2 as an unstable (stunt) vehicle.
I detailed recently each type at http://rcsaga.com/off
The TT is very cute, well sized and evolutive. Get one !
I already offered two WW2 to my nieces to let them started in R/C. The next buy could be a TT !

Ok I have decided to get the WW2
I have some questions on the electronics
What servo do I need? I have a few torqy but slow ones lying around. Is there a lot of room for the ESC and the receiver?
Can the truck be water proof? or mud proof?

especially with some mod motors and clod tires/rims.
It's a VERY light MT and has 2 motors- so you can''t really go wrong
The WW2 is fun and very challenging to drive. A little too easy to pop wheelies with and this will get annoying. The Twin Detonator should be more fun than the WW2.

Torque is good on the WW2 steering line !
The offset of the wheels is huge, as for their size. Fast response isn't that important considering the slope in the trains ...
I don't know the exact room but there's some place for sure !
I placed the Rx on the steering servo.
The ESC is ok on the battery tray. Mine were Mtroniks/Carson 20T units (I prefered to use waterproof ones)
The drive train isn't that concerned with wet conditions ... Nylon bushings all the way ... Just protect the Rx if you use a sealed ESC ...
Here's a pic of one of them to show you the layout :
On my WW2, I put HPI rear suspension arms on the rear and wider TB-01 arms in the front to widen the thing so it doesn't flip over when I turn it. This also made the car less prone to flipping over backwards when wheelieing because it moved the rear wheels back about a quarter inch. It will still flip on its lid but it's more controllable, now.

The thing I would aim for are the Twin Det. or the Wild Dagger and try the EVX and titans combo on it, either put the second battery wherever it fits or buy the alu chassi from www.rc4wd.com, that would be a killer...

A few people have done that, and the speed/power is unbelievable. Even with just dual 15 or 17 turns the truck really moves

I sould be ALOT faster than the E-Maxx given the lower weight, on the other hand it will still only be one speed...
