That depends: What's your budget and will you be racing? Do you want both on and off-road, one or the other?

Go Nikko all the way! Okay that was a joke... If you are only looking to spend $100 it might be pretty hard to get into. With that limit you really cant get a whole RC setup. There are some options like the Delphi Indi (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAEJ5**&P=7). Thats only going to require a battery pack and a charger. Or if you could spend a little extra you could pick up a Evader (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXXJ48**&P=7). Thats not to much more but you are still going to have to buy a battery pack and charger.
To get started racing you are going to want to have at least 3 battery packs, a charger and tires that will work for your local track. You can get that info by asking anyone that races there. Good luck

you need more dough. you'll be spending about 150 to 200 for a okay electric that has no radio, motor or esc. for nitro i estimate 200 to 320 for a rtr with lower quality parts that ussually are upgradeable. for a car maybe a tc3 nitro or electric would be good and is very upgradeable to race. off road has many options but many like associated rc10 gt, its simple and is upgradeable to race quality. There are more out there but you should do more research.you can visit the specific vehicle forums here or try www.nitroreview.com too read the comments who have those vehicles or any other you may want that is nitro.

OR if HPI still makes the DASH check it out. It's 99.99 and a great entry level/ learner/ beginner car.

IF you want a Dash then I second the guy who suggested Nikko...lol

You HAVE to put in atleast $200 for BARE MINIMUM stuff...for anything thats real quality and will last you have to spend ATLEAST $300 to get STARTED

Try getting stuff used

Ebay (http://www.ebay.com) (if it censors it, e b a y . c o m) look for anuy traxxas electric, they are the most durable cars ever, ive launched my pede over 6 feet in the air, as with the rustler, Lets say MORE, and the only damage was idler gears and bulkheads(mailbox) Plus TRX cars are reasonably cheap right now.

You can get a mini T for about 150 rtr and use AA's. Put another 60 or so in a rechargable and charger and you are ready to have some major round the house, in the drive fun (off road if you have the area preped).

(from Farris Buellers (sp?) day off)
"It is so choice! If you have the means I highly recomend picking one up."

stick with the hobby-grade RC stuff, no Radio Shack. I have a traxxas stampede and I love it. That's about $170 ready to run with electronic speed control. Great truck, durable, really fun off-road. It's not a race truck though. Expect to pay about $250 total for the Pede plus one decent battery pack and a decent peak charger.

dude you dont need to spend alot to get started in RC

Look at the Tamiya cars, they run at a good price and most of them only need the radio, batteries and charger. Thats for the kit and that all together is about 170'ish.

Or look at the duratrax evader, its a great RC to start with.

You can drift with a xmod i might do that in a few mins. Just need to find some tape. Wood floors are great. RWD and tape means some good but not great burnouts (sort of)

Nice xmods you have there. I have the RSX. but how did you get the hood like that. Paint or what.

Schooled
02-11-2004, 05:53 PM
Oh they are mine :o
i found em at Xmod's website.
These little things look like fun.
Although i heard a stock mini-z could win a race againsed a modded xmod..

howielong
02-11-2004, 05:59 PM
Yes a stock mini-z mostly could beat one. Mine is all stock but lights. They are fun for like 10 mins untill you bash it into the ground because your steering screws up and you haven't drivin it in over a month. (what that is me.) but any way they are fun. little things.

howielong
02-14-2004, 02:32 PM
there is no such thing as a xmod kit. You can by broken cars for cheap.

rc_fan03
02-14-2004, 04:20 PM
i think you r wrong. there was somekind of kit in radio shack in twin falls last weekend. i saw it with my own eyes.

egdinger
02-14-2004, 04:33 PM
You have to atach the body pieces to eachother and put the wheels on, Thats what you saw, so there is no kit. It comes only like that.
