Im looking to buy a sportmaxx or tmaxx but i wanna find then for a good price. on tower and like hobbytron and crap their like 390 for t and 310 or Smaxx or on tower their 400 for the tmaxx and 300-305 for smaxx. since when i order the tmaxx or sportmaxx it will be my first nitro so i will have to buy fuel, fuel bottle, but I have super Brain 959 batt. charger and a 1500 battery pack but after 4 gallon fuel and 250cc fuel filter itll be about 460-470 for the tmaxx and about380 for the sportmaxx.
Also when I order the sport or tmaxx, i know I will need CS tire glue for tires, fuel bottle, 10% nitro fuel, and after-run oil for the carb. anything else to keep the engione in top shape?

I would get 20% nitro. Don't get traxxas top fuel it sucks. Get trinity nitro platinum. Don't forget glow plugs and AA's. Also watch the DVD that comes with it and break it in real good.

as far as fuel get either trinity monster or blue thunder race forula <---- notice i said race formula. they also have sport formula but it isnt as good. the race formula has better lubricants etc. the trinity mosnter fuel is also very good. Its just as good as the blue thunder and its what i use when my hobby shop is sold out of the BT fuel. I dont know what trinity platinum is but if its from trinity it cant be bad. STAY AWAY from 10% fuels because they dont give your car the full performance they are capable of and since this will be your first nitro, i am guessing you dont want to re-tune your car when u decide to go to 20% fuel. just my 2 cents from my years with a nitro. :D good luck with your car and get the T-MAXX its 4 wheel drive. Its more fun and enables you to do more offroading. The S-MAXX and SPORT-MAXX are 2 wheel drive. overall the extra $ is worth it. My friend has a T-MAXX and my other friend has an S-MAXX. I find the T-MAXX more enjoyable because i can take it anywhere where as the S-MAXX has issues with really uneven terrain. Hope this helps!

Once you spend the money you won't regret a T-maxx, or a Savage for that matter.

for the saving of around $100 on the S-maxx you lose(compared to the T): 4wd, 2 speed, and reverse. it'll cost you more than that to upgrade it later.

I would really reccomend getting the savage if durability is important to you. fixing it every time it breaks costs alot!

If you want a traxxas truck for some reason...why not wait for the revo? If anything is worth the extra few bucks it's that.

my vote goes to the tamiya tnx... provided you dont need reverse.
like with a tnx - imagine it being a more durable t-maxx with an aftermarket motor and a forward only conversion...

I would wait for the REVO but if you can't wait get a T now. The 4wd and 2speed are must haves for real monster trucking. The reverse also comes in handy.

agree 100%. i used to love traxxas...until i realized how weak all the nitro models are that they make. the only good thing about traxxas is that they come up with revolutionary products that serve as a base for other, better companies to build trucks on
