what is a good muffler for the savage ss that u wont need to tune the engine to it too much and also isnt is loud as the stock one? thanks

I think no matter what muffler you get you will have to tune the engine for it. If I remember right some people put a piece of fuel tubing on the exhaust tip on the muffler to quiet it down. It may hurt your performance a little, but give it a shot.

The tuned pipe that comes with the Savage SS is quite good. I guess no one warned you that a nitro MT is going to be loud. Even putting an extender tube on the exhaust isn't going to tone it down that much. I do suggest getting a large-size exhaust deflector for it (Tower has them made by Hobbico - again, large size because the outlet is pretty big on the ribbed SS pipe). It won't keep all exhaust schmutz off the right rear arm/wheel, but it allows a lot less than without one.
By all means, do not buy one of those chromed or painted "dual exhaust" kits off eBay. They're just cheap garbage made out of copper tubing, can be even louder and definitely aren't worth the cash.
