I am looking for any information on remote control airplanes around the 5 to 10 inch wingspan range. I am trying to find something I can fly in a very small area.

have you seen the back issues, with the 3 grm models with co2 motors and the salty electronics from Cloud-9...i'd sure like to do one...but the components are sure out of my price range...if you find an alternative, be sure to post it. the smallest thing i can imagine is jasons acrobipe, which i'm gonna start next week.

If your looking for a good 1 channel controller goto your local toys-r-us or big lots and look for a Racing Champions 1:64 r/c diecast car. It comes with a controller and the car and a charger. Inside the car is a very very very light weight 1 channel reciever and a 2.4v 120mah Lithium battery. And also there is the Tyco Canned heat car. It has 9 gram 2 channel reciever in the car and comes with the radio. And also look at an E-Chargers plane. The motor is like the K&POO motor.

This is probably not what you're looking for, but if you haven't seen it, check www.aerovironment.com (http://www.aerovironment.com)

They make incredibly small RC planes with video camera's and LCD screens in the transmitter. You have to look in the Un-manned Air Vehicles link to find them.

Glad to hear you are doing an Acro-Bipe. Here's a few important things I left out of the instructions:

1) Strengthen the landing gear by epoxying it in and solder a thin peice of music wire across the legs about half way down.

2) VERY little control throw is required!! I can't over stress this. Becuase of the relatively high wing loading, this plane will snap roll and hit the ground quickly if horsed around. I have my rates set at 30% with 35% exponential and it's OK. Just be easy with it until you get a feel for it, it can get away from you quickly.

Good luck, and let me know how it goes.

Another note, I just tried two Duracell DL-123 Lithiums in the Acro-Bipe. It's a lot more docile with the lighter wing loading. It flies fine on the six volts at the lower weight. I have only put two 5 or 6 minute flights on it so far, but the batt's are holding up fine, I'll post a follow up when I finally run them down. At $7 a set, they better give me a lot more than 11 minutes.

You may find the site (in the UK) very interesting for micro micro stuff.
