Well, the little J3 went together nicely, considering my big clumsy paws! The prop is an 'EP-1047', and tachs out at 2,820RPM at full throttle. Does anyone know the pitch of this prop, and is this RPM nominal with the kit motor/battery combo?
The instructions call for 'Vs' to be bent into the wire push rods in addition to the 'Z' bends at either end. Does anyone know the reason for these?
Must now attach some small cord/line in order to introduce bowing into the wings.
Verrry interesting!I fly a Stinson L-5 at 105" wingspan and 23#-this is sure a contrast!
Merry Christmas to All!!
Jim

Hey Jim:

Glad to hear you are progressing well, gonna have it ready by next Thursday I hope.

The V's you bend in the pushrods are for fine adjustments after they are hooked up. I used them on my first one, but the rest of them are without.

On the motor, it doesn't turn a bunch of Rev's, but I've never had a tach on one, so I'd hate to hazard a guess.

I believe the props come pitched at about 12 degrees. Bob wilder "tweaks" them a little to about 18 degrees. Read his article last month in RCMicroflight.

Good luck,

Jason
