I was thinking about getting one of DJ Aerotech's "road kill" planes. Has anyone flown these ? Just wondering if they are worth getting because they look like fun!

I haven't flown mine because the weather won't cooperate, but I can tell you that the kit I received was of the highest quality and I would reccomend it. I'll give you a flight report as soon as the wind calms down here.

Corey:
I saw the P-51 fly at SWAC two weeks ago. The guy had somehow printed out scale P-51 markings on his deskjet printer and stuck them to the sides. it looked good and flew well.
It looked a little underpowered to me, but when I asked him about it, he said it flew great until he put the stickers on, and then it got heavy. I'd say keep it light and it'll be great. Those n-20 motors are amazing in a gear box! Bob Selman gave me one of his new ones and I'm building a secret plane it now. :)
Let us know if you get one and how it flys.

Got my DJ Aerotech mustang today and have almost finished it,wood quality is the best and the kit is great but the instructions could use more, it's basically just pictures that you must look at carefully.I hope I have time this weekend to get it flying because I have a lot of things to do like go to an air show tomorrow! There was an F-15 flying over my house today..what a rush! Maybe I'll build an F-15 pusher with the JD motor and gearbox ! Anyway I'll keep you guys posted and maybe send some pics when finished.

Flew the mustang today, actually crashed it today. For some reason I could not get it to fly properly and I ended up trashing it...not happy as the kit wasn't exactly cheap [for what you get anyway].On the bright side I can put the equipment in one of my own designs so I know what to expect.Actually I should get my MS Hornet helicopter in the mail soon so I will probably play with that for a while! Has anyone else had bad luck with their "road-kill" kits?

Hi everyone!
I'm interested in a "RoadKill" model as well.
However, the movies found at http://www.djaerotech.com/dj_product/roadkill.html indicate that the models are underpowered..? They seem to loose alot of speed in the turns. Can you who have flown one confirm?
Would make a fun indoor combat model though :)

I've finished construction on mine, but I'm waiting until I can fly it inside to try it out. I think these definately are inside-only birds.

Well, guys . . .I'm joining the thread because I got the Corsair as a gift and am puzzling over the NiMH batteries as suggested in the plan. Before I place an order with Cloud 9 for the cells, has anyone got some advice for me on this? Six or seven cells rated at 110? (I have only experience with Nicads at this point.)

Any time you use Nimh packs you want to use one more cell then the recommended Nicad cells. If the plans suggest a 6 cell Nicad pack you would use a 7 cell Nimh. I use mostly Nicad packs as well and just recently started venturing into Nimh. I would think a 6 cell 110/120mAh Nimh pack would work just fine in one of these little planes. I have yet to actually see one fly and am working on one of my own design. I didn't like the selection of warbirds they had so decided to design one of my own. I'll have pictures some time soon.
